iOS 11.3 Wishlist

I was just thinking how iOS and Android aren't all that different in the end considering Apple's software quality. Some Android users wait forever for their device to get updated despite their existing device running just fine. Us iOS users hop on the beta cycle waiting for Apple to fix things so that the device runs how it was running when it was new but that update never comes. The home button delay is a classic example. It's embarrassing when a 100 buck bargain bin phone has a faster home button response.

Sorry, but a fraction of a second home button difference is hardly embarrassing. I also don't know of any $100 bargain bin phones that somehow have a faster home button response. But, I get it, things like this are just not exciting and meaningful enough on their own without hyperbole.

which makes me wonder if 11.3.3 (or whatever last is).. will run the same as 10.3.3. Because 10.3.3 seemed to run as well as 9.3.3, and 8.3.... no wait, nevermind about that one..... and 7.1.2 (ahhhhhh, 7.1.2...)

I guess it’s time for you to switch to Android then, you have been complaining a lot lately and you don’t seem to enjoy your iPhone anymore...

Plus, the so called « home button delay » is here to stay because, in my opinion, it’s not a bug, the system is simply waiting to see if the user is going to press a second time or not.

No it’s sodding not! It’s a bug, never occurred under iOS 10!

It actually did occur in iOS 10, iOS 10.1, and iOS 10.2. Just saying.

There was no delay in 10, 10.1, 10.2. There were animation glitches and Apple at least was tweaking it throughout the release cycle. They haven’t even touched it in iOS 11.

Move control center to the app switcher, similar to iPad. AND, use same battery indicator as the Watch: circle with % in the middle. Other than that, all my devices run great on 11.2. X, 10.5 Pro, iPod 4th gen, iPad pro 12, iPhone 6, 7

So, while I am using that now, it is not what I'm looking for because I need the screen to light up (and vibrate if needed) when a contact texts, but NOT ring the phone.

Ahh... apologises. Missed out the silent switch part. For my case, only one contact was set bypass. Wife overrides everything...:D

It would be nice if switching AirPods between devices could be seamless.

Bose can do it and that's even without any special chips...

My B&O can and my Shure can ... if Apple doesn’t allow it it is either a technical issue or money

Major at the rate we are seeing bug fixes? Not likely :(

Looking at how 11.2 is I don't think iOS 11.3 is going to fix all our issues. Namely battery drain and home button delay.

Someone says: when you are paying attention to some details you did not pay attention to normally, something related to you is happening.
I am not sure why you are so obsessed to this minuscule home button delay but given that Apple is about to abandon home button altogether and embrace that ugly notch design across the board, giving up complaining this delay could make your life a little bit easier. Just saying.
 
How about fix some of the bugs that were reported before iOS 11 even launched months ago? Seriously, wtf is up with Apple and this release?

Fix speak selection to use the right voice for a start.
 
I would like that one tap long voice message recording feature from WhatsApp in iMessage without having to hold the button all the time - it ALWAYS interrupts !!!

Wish #1: Make iOS 11 usable to older devices such as hugely popular iPhone 6 (3 years). I don't own a 6 myself, but as the go-to person regarding Apple devices in my family/friends I'm frustrated when I see them having issues on iPhone 6 ... can't decently tell them "just switch to a new iPhone!".
Wish #2: Fix. Bugs. Period.
Wish #3: Change that stupid screenshot shortcut on iPhone X. I just can't make it work. Had to turn on Assistive Touch just because of that.
Wish #4: Yeah, iMessage in the Cloud would be nice.
 
I’d like a way to manually reset battery statistics. Meaning an option to show % battery used by apps since the last reset, not just in the past 24 hours or 7 days.
