Other improvements and fixes
  • Addresses a Messages issue that could cause some messages to appear out of order
  • Resolves an issue that could cause an app to appear in an incorrect location on the Home screen
  • Fixes an issue where CarPlay audio could become distorted
  • Fixes an issue where selecting music from your iPhone could fail when playing music over Bluetooth or when connected to USB on some vehicles

Resetting settings will not fixed it, probably erase everything!

Does anyone know if messages in icloud works between the iPhone X and apple watch 3 series? I deleted a text on my phone but it is still showing up on the watch. I thought this update would enable it?

This isn't called Message in iCloud. It is basically the syncing between Watch and iPhone. It doesn't actively mirror the iPhone message once it is deleted from watch or vice versa and has been an issue for a long time.

Still no "Messages" toggle in the iCloud Settings page for me on either my iPhone or iPad, just like in the betas. And Messages in iCloud isn't working, even though it says that it will delete a conversation from all devices when I go to delete one, as if the feature is enabled.

No support documents out on Apple's site for this feature yet, so I guess I'm boned unless I feel like sitting on a chat/call with an AppleCare advisor who has no idea how to help.

I might revert back to the last beta. I just lost 3% of my battery. :D

For Message in iCloud, your account needs to have Two-factor authentication for Apple ID and iCloud Drive enabled before you can enable it.

This is a pain in the a**. I have to manually delete any messages on the watch that have already been deleted on the phone. I can't believe Apple hasn't resolved this or added a fix.

I know, and it does. The problem I'm having has existed all the way back to the iOS 11.0 betas when they were first testing Messages in iCloud. The option simply doesn't show up in the iCloud page in Settings. I do get prompts saying that deleting a conversation on "this device" will erase it from all of my devices, but that doesn't actually happen (that is, I can delete on iPhone and it stays put on iPad). The option is also enabled on my Mac in Messages, but, again, changes on the Mac aren't reflected on the iPhone or iPad.

It's like it's "enabled," but not actually working. This happened in the iOS 11.0 betas, and then again in the 11.3 betas and the 11.4 betas as well. It worked properly on iOS 11.4 beta 4 (and the option actually showed up in iCloud settings on my devices), but then went back to not working on beta 5 and still is not working on the full release.

I may have to actually contact Apple at this point.

Do you also have iCloud Backup enabled as well?

Is Messages in iCloud even supposed to merge your conversations? I have text messages dating back to 2015 on my Macbook but they refuse to show up on my iPhone. I guess it's just new / upcoming messages from the time you turn it on?

I don’t know if this is new but my contacts pictures I’ve assigned them show fine in the contacts app but in the iMessage app I see a grey background with only initials!

I’m still having issues playing music from my Apple Watch that is on my phone locally. iPhone X, AW3 gps, both updated to newest software today. No Apple Music subscription. Ever since testing the 11.4 betas I can’t initiate an album or song from my Apple Watch unless it it stored on my watch locally. Anyone else with this problem?

Do you have to remove the beta profile, so it shows up?
I didn't, and the update showed up. I was on the latest beta build too.

Without deleting the beta profile did anyone get the OTA today?
Yes.

So is this the same as the final beta?
I believe so, but it still showed up for me OTA and I was on the latest beta.

How’s the performance? Anyone notice any improvements? IOS used to be so much smoother back in the day.

Removed beta profile and restarted a few times, still not showing up for me. I'll just wait it out I suppose. Any suggestions, let me know.
