In my iCloud Photo Library, I have 38,953 photos & videos.

iOS 10, that’s the same number I had in my Photos app.

Now with iOS 11, I only have 10,216 photos & videos in my Photos app. And it’s not still syncing or anything – it’s just way less photos and videos!

I tried turning iCPL off on my phone and then turned it back on but that didn’t work.

Any ideas?

Mine needed to be restarted and then plugged in for all the photos to start populating again. This scared me as well, since I have almost as many stored as you at 92GB.
You can tell it is still loading the images, on mine it would literally keep shifting the images in the “all photos” view as they came down from iCloud.

This thread is way too long to read, but I am having issues trying to remove message apps (hide them). I turn off the toggle, but it never goes into effect.

Second, I really like the new dock on the iPad, except the fact you can't remove recent apps, and closing out apps in multitasking takes like 5 times longer than swiping up. Slider-over is gonna be missed, but I'm sure it will be fine once I get use to the new dock system.

I agree entirely with your feedback on the iPad. I tried to close out all of the apps that I had open when I was updating, and that took at least a full minute and a half. I filed a request to have that changed back to the swiping behavior that was present before. I really hope that the X is not a permanent feature.

Anyone else having issues accessing their iPhone through iTunes? I've been trying to for the past 10 mins using the Apple cable and 3rd party cables I have and I can't get it to show in iTunes? I have the latest version of iTunes (12.6.1.25).

I'm trying to perform a restore back to 10.3.3 B2 - any help would be appreciated!

You have to restart iTunes.

For anyone looking for dark mode, it does exist ... if only a little! Check out the iMessage quick reply screen:

Also thought I might add that replying with the Microsoft outlook app doesn’t seem to work in this beta. So if you rely on that email client, not a good idea to use beta lol.

What does it do?
It fixed iCloud Keychain syncing and for some reason enabled Messages in iCloud. (Still not working on Mac)

The battery drain seems to also have reduced and my phone isn’t that warm anymore.

UPDATE: I still can sync Messages on iCloud on my iPhone but it doesn't sync on my Mac. Signed out and signed in on my Mac (downloading gigabytes of data again :() but it still doesn't sync.

I will do the same. The X takes way too long, especially if we are treating it more of a Mac. I'm gonna have dozens of apps open.

Yep. iMessage apps can’t be removed from the bar in this release and that process to close apps could use some work to make it faster. Slide over (the floating app on an full screen app) is still there but obviously initiated by the new method. One obvious improvement though is if you put an app in slide over you can push it off and on screen quickly. Handy in a notetaking or reference scenario where you just want a quick peek now and then but mostly want to work full screen.

After watching the keynote more carefully, I just realized Metal 2 is being implemented in iOS 11 as well.

Edit, can anyone test metal benchmarks in Geekbench 4?

Not sure if this has been raised in this thread but I can't find it so I will ask.

Anyone having issues getting the new Siri voice ? I've tried switching from Female to Male and back to Female. I am using US English and also region is set to USA.
I've also cold reset, normal reboot etc...
Is there a workaround to make this work ?

There's something else that I'm seeing in that screenshot, did they make the undo, redo, paste buttons on the keyboard bigger? Or is that only for the quick reply keyboard?

Does everyone have that lag when you tap on an icon and it takes up to a second for opening animation to start?

I have a similar problem in that I have 12 photos that have been trying to download for a week on my iPhone. Tried turningg off and on iCloud Photo Library, logged out of iCloud and logged back in same problem.

I logged into iCloud via the web and notice there is about 100 pictures discrepancy. iCloud web shows less photos than on my iPhone. My iPad shows 7 less than my iPhone. I hope the next beta fixes this issue.

Anyone else annoyed at the multitask pane on iPad? Having to press down on an app and wait for the little "x" in the corner to pop up in order to close out the app is so counter-intuitive. And what happened to the slide out task pane? I loved using that for messages and now I have to minimize an app, go back to home screen and then pull up Messages if I want to go there.

For all the hubbub about iOS 11 on iPad, it seems they have made it far less productive.

Why do you have to go to the home screen when you can swipe up to get the dock? I'm assuming you would have your most used apps on the dock.

Having similar issues too, but all my photos download. The photo count is just different everywhere for some reason. (At one point it even showed 7 photos downloading but there are only 4 photos in my library, odd!)

Yes, I am just now seeing this. It would appear Apple wants the Dock to be main source of control now. It is still slower and takes more steps than the way things were set up previously. I suppose I and many others will simply have to adjust.

I’m still trying to remember to ‘flick’ the keyboard instead of pressing the numerical key. It’s so hard-coded into my reflexes to hit that button that I often forget how useful this new way of typing can be.

Give it a month and I bet when you go back to an ios 10 ipad and try to type or multitask you’ll be cursing it. People, myself included, dont like change and reconfigring muscle memory.

Is it just me or does it seem more natural to flick up for the numbers and symbols instead of down? Probably something I’ll just need to get used to.
No, it's not just you. I also thought this was rather backwards given that the numbers are at the top so why not flick up???
WEIRD! IMHO

Well iMovie doesn't import .mov recordings from iPhone on IOS 11, even high sierra doesn't recognize them for editing. Lovely bit of fun here with that today. Not to mention recording video screen fades to black after a little bit causing the recordings to stop. So I had to keep my finger on the screen most of the time. That was really annoying as well. Was only using IOS 11 for my app testing purposes but I think I'll make the move back to IOS 10, IOS 11 isn't ready even for regular beta testing.. these are alpha issues.
