Just to chime in on the "Power drain" aspect. I have an iPhone 7 plus and have noticed that mostly power usage is fine.. but once in a while (a few times a day) "something" seems to drive the CPU hard. The phone gets very warm and life tumbles.

I've ALSO noticed that facetime with video is a massive drain -- whereas on iOS 10.3.3 it was fine.

I've just disabled ad-block, as I know that safari filters can take a fair bit of memory, and I'm wondering whether to try video/photo formats back to normal.

Since I don't have a mac, further debugging is tricky, without doing a clean install, slowly putting apps on etc.

Unless I missed it before, reminders now automatically adds a call link when you create a reminder to call a contact.
That's a weird font, is that default now? Looks very out of place with everything being San Francisco :O

Adguard with just the safari and EasyList filter is working.
I can’t seem to alter my filters in adguard. I get an error “loading filters to safari”

I was able to change the filters by disabling content blockers in settings first. Ads still aren’t being blocked for me though.

That was in beta one, at least the iCloud backup/badge number was. Not sure about the notification.

Something is running on my Air 2 since Monday's B2.1 update and it won't stop. My usage on my iPad is almost 72hours/Standby 72 hours. I haven't touched it in a few days because I have been busy. Battery is about 50% and it started at 100%. But the weird thing is all apps are closed and the battery pane doesn't show any apps listed. B2 didn't do this at all.

Something is definitely wrong with my Air 2 with this build. My iPad is running at 70% CPU usage with nothing open. In the process of downloading Xcode to run instruments to see what in the world is going on. No wonder my battery is draining while using it plugged in.

Perhaps a dumb question, but have you done a hard restart?

Hard reset, soft reset, signed out of iCloud, reset all settings. I have no idea what is running. I'm on the road, so its gonna take a few hours to download Xcode, but I don't have a choice.

Just be aware that when running Instruments with the device for troubleshooting, the device is using an additional constant 20% to 30% CPU processing for Instruments itself. Look for the rouge process/app that is utilizing high CPU resources.

Thanks, but this will be interesting, because I'm getting 90% spikes, so it definitely gonna hang out around 100% CPU usage with instruments running. I couldn't understand why this beta was so much worse than beta 1, this explains it.

One quick question. Is it possible to have the camera default to HDR yet? Currently it would appear that when I select HDR it stays on for maybe a couple of photos at a time, and then I have to set it again every time I take a new photo.

Any changes to this in iOS 11?

Yeah, something is definitely using way too may CPU resources. You should be able to find out what service or app is doing that. I find it helps to sort by the CPU column and shorten the refresh time of Instruments.

Thanks. I will report back in a few hours. Internet speed is horrendous where I am right now. I'm accustomed to my 300Mbps connection, and I have 2.5Mbps...

things i have noticed on my iPad Air 2

  • opening apps from the dock is hit or miss, often it opens the app next to it
  • sometimes my screen freezes on an open folder
  • power down button has a huge delay sometimes and when it does show up eventually and i dismiss it, my wallpaper on the springboard turns black for a while
  • sometimes apps do not open when i click on the icon or theres a huge delay
  • News in the Widget do not open safari
  • sometimes apps in my folders show the wrong icon, eg twitter got the fb icon
  • free storage (details) doesnt update unless i reboot, eg i deleted a movie but the tvapp still shows 7GB of usage. once i reboot the iPad it is fine
  • sometimes i cannot remove open apps feom the app switcher, the x does not appear

Is Spotlight that thing with the search bar and the four most used apps? Can you tell I don't use it? :). Anyway, just swipe down from around the middle of your home-screen. Works for me (6S, beta2).
I was talking about how easily you could swipe down slightly from the top in any app and instantly open an app you want.

Right now you have to swipe down to open the horrible lock screen/Notification Center and then swipe right to widgets to access spotlight.
[doublepost=1498771474][/doublepost]The settings app now crashes every time you try to a remove a system language in the "Language and Region" settings.

  • Power usage is all over the map.
  • Charging seems to take longer
  • No indicator for password symbols entered in lock screen
  • Unable to find a playlist mode in podcasts too

One thing that I noticed that isn’t really a bug but sort of an annoyance. The keyboard prediction has become worse. Like if I type handy, it will change the word to candy. If I type hack, it changes my word to back or something. It’s really weird, cause I see that Apple usually makes a big deal out of how smart the keyboard becomes every iOS roll out. But I find it becoming the opposite instead.

I felt like I noticed that happening on IOS 10 of late, before adding beta..

I actually hate my life with this control center bug. Has to be to most annoying bug I’ve experienced to date.

It's not just your Air 2. Myself, my GF, and two of my friends DFU'ed back to 10.3.2 - basically a clean install of that version of iOS, installed the Beta Profile while clean, and have pretty much left it that way. My install of DP B1 basically borked my Air 2 with an OTA update (not a clean install), and my GF tried installing B1 over a reset Air 2.

DP B2 isn't any better in this regard.Reboots take FOREVER. My GF has no issue with her iPP 9.7 and I have pretty much no issue with my iPP 12.9 (first gen). No real issues with iPhone 6S/6S+/7+ so far. Essentially, we're 0-for-6 with no-issue Air 2 installs.

I just can't believe I had none of these issues with Beta 1, but everything went to hell with beta 2. Springboard crashes, CPU usage, battery life, accessory bug. Thats not even half of it. Not one of these issues occurred on beta 1 for me.

Just tried to play music from my phone to my 2014 Mazda3 using USB and Bluetooth and neither worked. USB said authentication failure, Bluetooth just kept trying to load infinitely. I've loved iOS 11 so far, especially the new App Store, but there's no way I can go without being able to play music from my phone in the car. iOS 10, here I come.
Remove the Mazda Bluetooth connection from your iPhone and add it to the car again.

Agreed, DP B2 has been a CF here on my end. My GF (and her two black belts in something) have me steering clear of her - suggesting going back to 10.3.2 didn't go over so well. I'm likely going back to 10.3.2 to get my Air 2 back…
