beta 6 when launched can be considered as daily driver

i really want to try it but heard and see some recovery scary things when install iOS 11 beta and since I don't have internet connection to my PC for the moment, if remains in recovery mode I will not be able to restore it! So that is my beta scary thing! :-D

I might be out of proper thread to ask the questions but : does anyone tried iOS 11 beta 3 on iPhone 5S? Is it for the moment a daily driver, or not usable at all?

There's always a risk of bugs for each beta. So far, it's useable on my 5S with noticeable bugs like most pointed out but no major bugs though. Each beta might take 2-3 weeks so if you can tolerate bugs. The most stable betas are usually between 5-6th and the final is usually the GM build. If you can wait till official release, you won't have to worry about being stuck and can't restore the device if you hated the bugs. I'm actually using the beta on my main device and things aren't too bad.

Seeing the products that you already own, makes me feel comfortable! :D thanks a lot for sharing it!

Been messing around with Smart Invert today and it’s improving but still quite the mess.

Within Messages the bubbles were the right colors instead of the bright orange but as soon as I sent a message out everything flipped. Also the received bubbles are squared instead of the usual rounded bubbles.

I’m hoping they intend to change all the yellows back to blue throughout the OS. I would also like to see the badges in the classic red.

Overall Beta 3 is better, but battery life is still terrible, don´t you guys think?

For me battery life is worse than iOS 10 on my 9.7 inch iPad Pro and on my iPhone 6s which is normal for early iOS betas. It seems that Apple doesn’t get around to battery life optimization until later in the beta process. It’s not a show stopper for me except under one condition.

Battery life is terrible on my iPhone 6s if I’m browsing the web in Safari for an extended period of time using LTE. After 15 - 20 minutes of active browsing in Safari the phone gets noticeably warmer and the battery life percentage starts dropping quickly. Shutting off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Location Services helps but battery life is still pretty bad. It’ll drop from 100% to 60% in less than an hour if I’m actively browsing the web. Flip over to Wi-Fi and it returns to normal (by the beta’s standard at this point).

If you’ve got an iPhone 6s and need the ability to browse the web in Safari using an LTE connection for an extended period of time without a charger handy I would not install the beta. Outside of that battery life seems on par with where it’s been with previous early iOS betas.

Well, am talking about the text replacement (see picture). In my Mac mini I have all my shortcuts, but on my iPhone they gone after install iOS11. Seems to be an issue with iCloud, I guess. I logged out and in in both devices, but nothing, the problem continue

It's been like that for a long time. They have been syncing better lately and I hate the thought that it's going to start all over again with iOS 11 .

After upgrading from PB1 to DP3, my “settings” app is in English but my device is danish, has anyone tried that?
Just with another language perhaps?

Is this new? Apple now recommends iOS 11 beta users to downgrade to iOS 10.3.3 beta and not 10.3.2.

^ I couldn't even downgrade straight to 10.3.2 from 11 pb 2. Needed to do 10.3.3 beta first and then 10.3.2.

Yes, known bug. You best report this to Apple, too, so they get around to fix it quickly.
I already did.

Was going to downgrade my iPhone 6 because of a really bad experience with the current beta, including atrocious battery life.

Haven't downgraded yet, but noticed something with the bad battery: I don't think ios 11 is draining my battery.I Today, I was at 90+% when my phone went off. Tried switching it back on but it was showing as the battery being drained and was asking to be plugged in.

After a few tries to switch my phone on, it started booting but soon went off again and on trying to switch it back on, the plug in screen showed again.

When I got home I plugged in the phone and it booted, and after a very very short time showed 100% charged again.

Conclusion: the phone is not reading the battery level properly.

Any thoughts?

Anybody having an issue with beta 3 where the one-handed keyboard keeps reverting to the regular keyboard? I’ve tried enabling it both through the keyboard and in settings but every time I switch apps it reverts to the normal keyboard.

I have a keyboard bug as well for the Skin Tone Variation Color where you select a default color, for each app you'll still need to select a default color but if you force close the app then you'll need to select the default skin tone again.

Battery is rather good here on Beta 3.
But the worst beta ever since iOS 4 regarding the battery was this year with iOS 11 Beta 1.

I would say it’s a beta release away from being a solid daily driver, although things have been pretty good on mine (test device).

PB2/DB3 did wonders for animation performance and overall performance in swiping between home pages. The App Store still has reliability issues, and I can’t speak to messaging or anything of the like - I know others are having some troubles though. But, I’m actually impressed with the smoothness of things. It’s close.

maybe it's just me but reading through these forums, i see people saying that half of their apps are disappearing overnight and battery drain is horrific on DP3. do you think it'll really improve that much in two weeks?

Hmmmm it’s hard to say, because my experience is unique and therefore anecdotal. On this 5s (given, the battery has been tested and is in good shape) the battery life seems better than it was on the previous beta. Standby battery is improved as well, although far from perfect. I expect that to improve rather quickly seeing as they’re inendated with battery life reports. As for vanishing apps, I’ve not experienced that. YMMV.

Geesh. Muscle memory is killing my apps

I already uninstalled a few frequently used apps with 3d touch

I force touch the app and the menu pops up. Then i slide up to tweet or whatever it is. And the apps start to jiggle and i dont even notice i press the x and it is gone before i notice when i move thumb away i slide over the popup.

The whole point is quick no think actions. But most apps dont actually get uninstalled. Thankfully there is a popup

Fun bug. Pfff
Yeah. For this reason I almost not use force touch shortcuts at all, least for now.
Bored to master the timing between jiggle to menu.
Album in Music is shuffling even though shuffle is not selected...restart didn't fix...
For me it is repeating the same song forever when I play from playlist.
Let the phone cool down, don't download anything, reboot and check again.

I just play a song while testing.
Anyway, after a few restarts, it goes back to normal.
