Probably been answered 100's of times before but when does a PB hit after a dev release? same day or the next day?

You always could, but it would pop up the passcode entry by default. Now it's just asking for TouchID with the option for passcode.

i was already on my homescreen, got an email, went to email app by notification, it wanted touch id..

same day ~ 2 days later, apple has a history doing all those

New Features
  • Notification Center now allows the ability to swipe left to right to open a notification. Right to left to present options of View or Clear. Continuing to drag right will open the notification. Continuing to drag left will clear it.

If you swipe left and right on the clock (or en area free of notifications) you still swipe to widgets or camera, like you did in the previous betas. This is way better ;)

New screen when you tap a notification while the device is locked. It’s probably to teach people to use Touch ID and not put the passcode. It does still give you the option though. This is a nice update.

If we were able to lock individual apps with Touch ID, this is how I'd imagine the UI. Can't believe it's been 4 years since we all want this and still nothing.

Early on, usually 2 days later. Towards the end, sometimes same day (several hours later) or next day. We're getting towards that later stage, but not sure if we're quite there yet. I'd guess Wednesday for the PB3 release.

The new app switcher is amazing!!! It’s much smoother than in the previous betas and it automatically closes now when all apps are removed. Also, if you try to open it when no other apps are active, it now does not open and vibrates to confirm it’s not currently usable!

You def don't need to ever end up in a situation where there are no apps in the switcher. If anything, this just makes apps take more CPU time as they reload entirely.

device capacity is "inaccurate" (depending how u look at it) now, showing entire flash chip capacity instead of usable capacity after ios & the stupid storage conversion penalty thing thats gone on for ever (eg: 512gb ssd = 476gb or so usable).

message sync setting is gone, its unified now with messages toggle under icloud settings.

Runs well on my IPP 12.9 2017 ..

Curious if its stable on an iphone 7+? Its my daily driver so been hesitant to run it.

In context of the above, there is one issue. Since Handoff icons are not visible on the lock screen anymore, the only way to get to them was the app switcher. Now, if you have closed all apps, you cannot open app switcher, meaning - no handoff. So for that, if it is important, we may need to keep at least one app open.

Also, 3D Touch lag seems to have increased.

Also, the text shortcuts still do not work on 3rd party keyboards.

There's no need to be closing all your apps anyway, so this should be an extremely uncommon situation.

So turns out with the new notification options on the lock screen, etc, you can pull the notification all the way to the right instead of revealing the open box and then tapping it.

Totally true. I rarely ever close all the apps. I only consciously close the ones I use rarely or the ones I know will use a lot of memory footprint in the background, such as games. Games are the only apps I close off every single time. Others, no.

I still dont have this as an available update but I sure hope it fixes all of the freeze-ups I was having with PB3. Snapchat takes solid black images and Square closes on open but I realize those are app-specific fixes that need to be implemented.

The bluetooth icon bug is still there. Icon stays lit up like something is connected to it - all the time. Downloading a restore file to install fresh to check for sure.

Are you running a dev beta?
For iOS 11:
DB1
DB2=PB1
DB3=PB2
DB4 (no PB3 as of now)

I know, but it’s just a force of habit ever since the myth of them wasting battery life...

Is this a bug? Lotta extra space at the bottom now when attempting to add a photo via the Messagea app...
