iOS 11 Beta 4: Changes, Bug Fixes, Enhancements, etc.

So overall, I'm fairly pleased with PB3. Battery life has been acceptable and the phone hasn't warmed up as much as previously.

However there are a couple of bugs that I've noticed.

1. Maps:
- When using Maps, the lockscreen is still confusing as to whether it's locked or unlocked.
- The phone will not always turn the screen on when a new direction is spoken. It also does not turn it back off.

2. Weather:
- The weather widget has stopped updating. My Watch is up to date, but unless I restart or the phone detects a drastic GPS change, the widget will not update the weather or location.

3. Lockscreen/Photos:
- If you are viewing a photo in landscape and lock your phone, when you power the screen on, the lockscreen is half landscape, half portrait.

So...this is a Wiki post as stated above. You should go to the first post and edit it with these additions in the proper spot.

Anyone noticed that most of the times when dragging from the top to see the notification center while using facebook, instagram or other apps that use that infinite scrolling thing, it jumps to the top? It's like when launching the NC, it also registers it as a tap on the status bar timer.

Same issue observed on iPad 5. Filed a bug report.

I used QB on iPad till November last year. Bar a couple of admin jobs and settings, this app is an almost 100% replacement on either iPhone or iPad. When something can't be done inside the app, it is possible to do it using Safari.

Everything can be done on the iOS apps. It is really a great experience. But, for certain things, and certain times, you do need to use the browser to access QBO online or use their 100% functional wrapper app available for download on their website.

I find that most often the only times I prefer to use the app on the Mac is when I somehow feel like I want more screen real estate. Workflow is in no way different, if you get what I mean. :)

It's a Wiki. I think, by definition and spirit of wiki, everyone should be able to edit and add to it! :oops:

Yet, there are some here who report an inability to add or edit the first post and I don't know why is that. Maybe mods might be able to shed light on it, why some users cannot edit the first post and some can.

So I just turned off Safari sync in iCloud settings and then back on and Safari is finally workable - but thanks for your advice.
 
Does anyone else notice that opening an app space from the app switcher, that it does not show on the dock recents anymore - just wondering whether this is a bug or whether it is now normal behaviour? In previous betas it definitely showed up. To clarify the app is not located on the dock at all.

I’m also noticing that when I plug in headphone that no music app with headphone icon is showing in dock recents anymore. My understanding was that it should occur every time you plug in headphones but maybe that is not the case?

I also noticed that the dock can be acivated from the widgets screen (home screen). Is this normal behaviour?

You should probably mention which device you are using when all of this happens...
 
Is anyone having issues with their data connection? I’m on T-Mobile and LTE just stopped working. If I disable LTE everything works fine. I checked with someone else on T-Mobile (not on the beta) and their service is fine

I've been having issues with LTE being super slow, in some speed test I did the upload speed was 0.00. When I went to work I found out that phone calls were really broken up and people couldn't understand anything, put the SIM card in an old 6 Plus and it worked fine. Was planning on going to the Apple Store so I rolled back to iOS 10, turns out beta 4 was the issue.

I’ve not had too many issues with my LTE (also t-mo), but I have seen some wifi dropouts and sporadic connection issues.

Ahh. Great. I was afraid of that. I’m having the exact same issues with the same symptoms. What carrier are you on?
