I would give your phone 24 hrs before making any observations about performance when installing new updates.

IMO airplane mode is once again functioning as it should, because when you get on a plane there are periods they really don’t want any type of frequency interference. Keeping your Bluetooth connected defeats the whole purpose of an airplane mode.

That BS about interference has pretty much been put to rest, at least in the US. When I turn on Airplane Mode all I really want is to disable the cellular radios; I can still use WiFi and Bluetooth on any US airline.

There is a cellular toggle in Control Center now, but does anyone know if it disables the radios or just data?

Double tap to open wallet does not work for me on iPhone 7.

Some queries:

1. Do I need to have future passes in it for it to open? I have some old passes inside at the moment.
2. Is there some setting somewhere to enable this tap to wallet feature?

I use Wallet in India only at airports and that frequency is going down, so i would generally just open the phone and the app and then show to the security personnel. This double tap feature would be immensely helpful and convenient.

I really do not know how many actually follow through. Each time I am on a plane, I see so many using their phones without Airplane mode activated. I don't know about other countries, but airlines in India surely need to just confiscate the devices before takeoff to ensure compliance. Man has always prided himself in flouting regulations.

You know that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not a problem for planes, right? That’s despite popular belief otherwise. Cellular should be turned off, though. That’s why it’s so important that Apple is unlinking Airplane mode from Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection.
[doublepost=1502202305][/doublepost]Exactly!

Exactly! I’m so tired of people proclaiming their tribal belief that Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is going to influence an airplane. FFS...

added keyboard shortcuts for the Files App

What are they? It doesn’t even show the shortcut sheet on holding Command, which is pretty crappy.

I believe this is exactly right.
I can’t reproduce that. Apps in split don’t show differently on the dock or anywhere else

Also, is it just me or is it no longer possible to drag an icon to another in Springboard to start multitasking? It just creates a folder now if it’s on the home screen and it’s not possible at all on the dock as the bottom icon just moves out of the way.

I do know that, but frankly, I do not see any reason to stay connected even on one flight no matter how long. It isn't too long before we would like to stay connected during bedroom session as well.

I do not understand why can't we disconnect.

You can disconnect. That’s exactly what the buttons in control centre do; Disconnect.

Two things:

Files—Is it my imagination, or did Files used to have a local storage “On My iPad” feature? I don’t see that in DB5, it’s all cloud services now.

Apple TV Control Center—I can’t seem to get this to work with my Apple TV. The Remote app works just fine, any thoughts?

For Files. The “On my iPad section is still there in the “Share to Files” share sheet. Try saving a document into the “On my iPad” section. Sharing a photo for example should work. After that the section should reappear in Files.

Correct, I cant either. It seems to a ghost image of the Outlook icon just hanging around in that area of the dock. It is live though, as it activates Outlook when I touch it.

Edit: and now it has gone after a reboot. Nothing to see here, move along....

I’ve had a number of bugs throughout the beta where an icon was left floating and could be moved freely (no grid). Can you move it? Anyway the only cure I found was a restart.

I can speak only to your second point. My iPhone 6s works with the remote app but not with the Control Center with my Apple TV3.

Yes, a reboot fixed it. I was getting excited about a new icon badge, particularly a way to show split windows that were active in the background, as was suggested!

Can anyone test if the Apple TV Control Centre remote is now working with an Apple TV 3? Thanks in advance!

I tried this and you’re right, the "On my iPad" section does appear in the share sheet, but I can’t save to it :/. The option is grayed out. Sounds like a bug.

Maybe it’s Apple TV thing, then?

You can't save to the base of it but that's by (questionable) design. You should be able to save to an existing folder though. Transmit or Pixelmator for example will create such a folder when you save locally in them.

I added this to the first post but here's a very in depth walk through of 90+ tweaks and new features:

And by tweaks, I mean tweaks. They literally walk you through every little spacing, description, etc change in the new beta. I find it to be really interesting to see how Apple is iterating.

Yeah, it's quite sad that Apple takes time to remove a line from the camera icon or round some corners in the CC by a couple of pixels instead of focusing on fixing real bugs and slowdowns.
