you make it seem like it's a laggy slideshow on older devices. the animation runs fine on my 3 year old Air 2.

it may be smooth but it is using resources/memory/battery, that is not needed and serves no useful purpose. Not all devices have 2 gig of RAM in the iOS 11 lineup.

Do you even have Airpods? Do you have any evidence that this slows anything down?

Nope , don't have airpods but I would wager that this useless animation would affect memory and battery. There are iOS 11 devices that only have 1 gig of RAM that will be struggling.

Struggling to play a pre-rendered, low resolution video? Do they struggle to play Youtube videos?

I haven’t seen this get nearly as much praise but my favourite iOS 11 feature by far is being able to immediately interact with an app when opening it. For example; when opening Safari I can immediately scroll with no waiting. Same thing when exiting an app or unlocking your device, you can swipe on the home screen with zero waiting unlike in iOS 10 and prior. Also, when double clicking the home button to bring up multitasking, you can immediately double click to exit rather than having that short delay. No longer having to wait for animations to finish to interact makes the whole OS flow better and is something I’ve been wanting since iOS 7.

I'm sure the animation isn't running when not looking at that window. So how can it in any significant way affect anything? Except for maybe imo looking worse than before.

Oddly my update was super quick. Downloaded in what seemed like seconds (200 Mbps but Perhaps it started before I noticed)... A whole to prepare and install.20 mins or so. Seemed quicker than usual

You can use the s word. Everything just feels "sn****er. There. I dared say it. ;)
Agreed! Animations have definitely been sped up on this build! I’m liking it but also am wary. iOS 10 had 1 or 2 betas with crazy fast animations before they were slowed back down in later builds. I’ll be interested to see if the animations stay this fast in the final release.

When you disable bluetooth or wifi in control center, does it save batterylife? because wehn i disable it in control center it is still activated in settings

can someone explain this?

sorry for my bad english

Yeah, I did. I'll have to try a clean install tonight at home.

Edit: Well, just opening the App Store and closing did the trick. This seems similar to my earlier comment about the 3D Touch settings for the Camera app.
That is common and not a bug in this version. Seems most apps when their are updates or they add/change 3D support you have to open the app before the menu appears or works.

Disabling BT has almost zero effect on battery life. However here is the info on the new behavior with the control center toggles for wifi and BT:

Control Center
New Features
• Tapping the Wi-Fi button in Control Center now disconnects from the current network and
temporarily disables Wi-Fi networking. (32299242)
Resolved Issues
• The expanded Wi-Fi UI in Control Center now updates the network name when
transitioning between networks. (32280116)
• The Bluetooth button behavior in Control Center now mirrors that of the Wi-Fi control.

I would hardly call the 3D Touch icons fixed, it’s a jerky mess.

True. 3D Touch works buttery in CC for me. Light pressure. Same goes for Lock Screen notifications. But, 3D Touch on apps opens the menus jerkily, and the touch itself needs more pressure to apply.

It is now possible to change the color of ambiance hue lamps in various warm tones. Go to the appropriate lamp and you will now see 'color' On Home and 3D touch also

Unfortunately my first impression: This beta is a step back again for the iPad pro 10.5 . There are now small stutters nearly every nearly single time I open an app, additionally when switching on the pages of the home screen. Also the stutters in the multitasking switcher someone already mentioned in this thread somewhere were also not fixed (smooth when scrolling to the left, but stutters when going to the right).

It just doesn't feel good right now at all. I hope they address this before the GM, but I am actually starting to get a bit pessimistic, because with today they seem to have started to push delta updates, which don't change the core foundation that is likely responsible for this... Unfortunately I can't test it on an iPhone, but what I've read so far the situation there has improved.
