Probably not because the actual reason for flat and non-skeuomorphic designs is to get the UI out of the content you want to see/use/etc. Together with current IT-trends like AI we won't see that coming back ever again. I'm 99 % sure.

Back on topic: I find it very interesting that we haven't heard better seen anything how iOS 11 will be and look like. Definitely feels different than last years.
Yeah, I'm sure it's better be blinded by the plain white color everywhere. I can't even use some wallpapers on iOS 10. I'm actually more focused on the content when I'm using my old iPhone 4 on iOS 6. That thing is a joy to use. The fluid smooth animations and easily distinguishable elements that creates contrast between things is so nice to use and look at. iOS used to have a personality, but now it's soulless. If they aren't gonna change iOS design they need to add at least a dark mode in iOS 11.

In 5 days, we'll have iOS 11 on our devices! Definitely looking forward to it.

I won't be having it installed. Did they actually release it to the public for testing after the WWDC last year or only for developers? I will wait and see first especially with things like Settings URL scheme crippling in Launcher apps (it still works but third party can no longer use API) recently and probably also the farewell of 32bit apps I'm a bit cautious to upgrade for now.

Why don't you just change the notifications to appear as banners at the top of the screen instead??
Problem solved.

"I also don't care to spend endless time configuring types of notifications, when, etc etc to solve the above issue. The default version/settings of notifications should be tolerable out of the box."

You don't get the point what "content is key" means. If you wait 20 years there won't be any real hardware displays only VR & AR coupled with AI displaying your content. And actually the content makes the personality not the OS.

That's not really how things work. Default ones are fine for many, and for those that they aren't there are options to change them. To complain that something isn't to ones liking but be unwilling to change the very options that exist specifically to allow someone to make things to their liking is almost paradoxical in a sense.

That said, I don't ever seem to recall my notifications coming up as alerts by default, it's usually banners, so even that doesn't really seem to fit.

My experience as well; ever since banners became a thing. In what, iOS 6? It's so long I don't remember.

Endless time?? It takes literally 20 seconds to change that.

Laziness!
[doublepost=1496247029][/doublepost]Why do some people complain about a feature on a phone when it can be easily and quickly changed to accommodate your preferences?

Just moaning for the sake of moaning.

I'd really like to see messages synchronized between my computers, tablets and phones. If I read twenty messages on my phone, I shouldn't get twenty dings on my desktop and twenty more on my laptop.
I don't - if I read on one I don't then get notified on other

I'm a little surprised that there hasn't been any leaks of iOS11.... or have I had my head in the sand and missed them all.

On that note, has screenshot from unreleased software ever happened in the past.

A new app that could download files but all downloaded files will not get out of that app.

so, a limited file manager?.. if no data can go out of the app, what's the reason for it? unless its for icloud use only. Which Apple already has.

iOS 10 was the redesign, next won't be until iOS 12/13.
They come in waves of 3:
iOS 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10 ->.

That's also how i add :)

I am going to say with 100% certainty that Dark Mode is coming in iOS 11. Unsure if it will be device specific but it is definitely coming.

They released iOS 10 to the public beta program after Beta 2 hit. It will probably be the same cycle with iOS 11.

If it does happen, it wouldn't change that it was still a guess, even if the guess turns out to be right.

Well it isn't a guess, I know it's coming, although a lot of people want a dark mode I'm still not convinced I'd use it, Ive always though the lighter theme looked nicer anyways. Maybe that's why I don't like windows 10, its too dark for me

Well, that's why I asked the original question, if it's not a guess or is basically more than a guess, then there's some sort of external information that it's based on that is proof or at least evidence that it's coming (especially when presented in the form of a 100% definite certainty)--what would that be?
