I downloaded ios 11 on my iPhone 6s, and its such a piece of garbage.
It crashes, lags, animations are noticeably slower (apple slowing down older phones),
when i force touch on icons, sometimes it vibrates, sometimes its not (giving it that very good feel).
Scrolling in apps is slower, laggy, apps open noticeably slower.
Also, why is there another bar in messages app when i open a message.
There is already the app store button next to the camera one, i dont need al that S**t down there

I've had a perfect, fast phone that never crashed, never lagged, now i got a slow phone that sometimes crashes when i open a simple app. (Safari for example).

What the hell apple.

Also, i hate the contrast changing thing when the screen comes on. Srsly, whats the point? It looks ugly.
Downgrade to 10.3.3 while you still can

And that fits with everything I've said: it's been like that with basically every x.0 release--there were always people having similar type of complaints, you just didn't happen to be one of them until this release, but that doesn't change that this isn't really anything new or all that different (aside from how things are affecting you being new and different for you in when it comes to this release compared to other ones).

People moaned about what they thought was sloppy based on the standards at the time, which were so high you had complaints about natural errors that creep into any .0. This release is so bad that we now see errors that previously wouldn’t make it past betas 3 or 4. People would now happily accept what they moaned about in iOS 8.0 when at the time they didn’t know how bad it was going to get so THOUGHT it was a problem (and it was it’s just now the problems are so much worse things that would’ve been a problem in, say, 5.0 aren’t even noticed!)

Anyway I’m glad you agree it’s sloppy. The problem is you accept it “ah it’s okay! They’ll sort it out! I’ll give $xxxx to the world’s richest company on what MIGHT happen”. Is that good enough? Remember we’re talking about the basics, not actual complicated software issues which would require a mass release to discover (and as you said people complain about every year)

I agree that it’s basically nothing really new or different than before or typical.

All is good so far on my iPhone 6s...iOS 11 is beautifully smooth and quick.

I did a clean DFU install via iTunes, which may or may not have made a difference.

Is anybody else seeing a terrible delay between the time you take a photo and the time it shows up in the Photos app? I took a few pictures today and found that I had to wait up to a minute or more before they started appearing. First, they appear in the "All Photos" album and then a bit later they appear in that first section called "Photos". It all feels very sloppy to me.

Yes I’ve noticed that too! Videos seem to appear straight away.

Well everyone here was positive these would be fixed by the time the GM hits. Now they say more like after the first or second update to iOS 11 lol.
People hope that this or that would get addressed sooner than later, but as it usually goes, most releases still have some issues of one sort or another, especially early on.

It’s because people like C DM think it’s okay to release .0 versions in a beta state “because it always happens”, so what rush does Apple have to properly fix it for release if people don't really want it to be?

It’s not that it’s OK, it’s that there are always issues with basically any software release. Some people seem to have more and stranger ones, while most doesn’t actually experience many. Nothing new or strange about it as that’s how it has pretty much always worked in the software world well beyond Apple. People “like me” have pretty much nothing to do with any of it, just basic reality in play.

The only thing i'm experiencing on a 7 plus is animation stutter, home button lag and calculator input; having to input slowly otherwise 1+1+1=12

By the time you typed all that you could've been downgrading to 10.3.3!

This is exactly what I've been saying too. Every single year the .0 release has bugs that come to light as millions of people start using it, that you can't realistically expect a small team of testers to find - and we accept that. But iOS 11 isn't the same. This .0 is clearly unfinished - these screenshots show things that appeared and were fixed in iOS 9/10 betas 1,2,3. Not final release. And Apple has no reason to really change it because people defend it as "it happens every year".

Not put it on my phone (6s plus ) as yet, Always let others test it a bit first :) ....popped it on 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9 and it seems fine.

Looks like a big step forward for the pads.

I never upgrade iOS. Guaranteed obsolescence.
Bullpoop! It’s the exact opposite, if your device isn’t old 32-bit tech, it’s getting better and better with every OS update. The software improvements over time are the real reason to prefer Apple over Windows and Android. When the iPhone 4 was introduced it didn’t have iMessage. The original iPhone didn’t came with an AppStore. Upgrades prolonged the life time of these devices.

I cannot get location services to work. Everything is on but apps say location cannot be found. Clock update keeps cycling as well for Time Zone on the iPad Pro.

I’ve reset location, reset network, rebooted, you name it tried every fault check to rectify and cannot sort it. Apps cannot find my location.
[doublepost=1506001498][/doublepost]Done all this and still the same problems.

FIrst try turning location services off. Then reboot your iPad & turn it back On,

Check to see that in Settings that Date & Time & Language & Region are correct.

Check to see that in Restrictions, location services haven't been disabled.

Open a Map app and see if it can pinpoint where you are.

If you still are having problems do a General Reset:

Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings,

You will have to log back into your wifi network(s) & customize certain settings but won't lose any data.

I'm curious: how does this compare to a big new release of that Android? Not trolling, just genuinely curious.

I have a feeling Android must get its fair share of bugs as well, and they must be a real blast to figure out given the insane variety of hardware involved, manufacturer-customized versions, etc...

I was thinking about this earlier. My experience with android was always with samsung devices and the major updates i recall were not a universal update and went OTA by location and/or carrier network. I waited 4 months for Marshmallow, while other countries in europe recieved the update upon release.

I cant say if that effects the update experience or minimises issues per-say but i do recall both marshmallow and nougat updates (for me) were completely smooth and free of issues. The nougat update did remove a few key features from my s7 and added others but if i am honest i thought it was the smoothest in functionality and imo had the most beautiful android UI to date, however i may have been lucky in that the s7 had its curved edge panels which did tend to let that particular android version shine, however you only have to look at android forums to know that others were not so lucky or happy with their experiences. So...

I had been happily running android and iPad air2 then pro side by side and had everything i needed.
I switched to iPhone around 1.5 years back and was familiar straight away, i loved it and the way it synced with my other iOs devices was a revelation, suddenly my ipad could make & recieve calls at home while my iphone was in another room...I was completely sold. Also the stability and simplicity in iOS was refreshing, Android aint for everyone and can be a challenge.

I do have to say though that i do regret the update to iOS11. I find it buggy, not bothered so much though as i know this will be rectified. BUT i think it looks quite ugly and extremely dated now. I agree with the post above who said it appears “Unfinished” as this is what i also thought.

After the update finished and i was presented with the ‘unlock keypad’ for 1st time, i was shocked and initially thought something had gone wrong with my update. That keypad design is plain hideous, Why Apple?
Unfortunately this dated design (i dunno if they were aiming for some sort of Retro here but imo it fails big time) continued into the native apple apps and i just can not see me getting used to it. Its a major turn off. However this is subjective and i know others like it, so its swings and roundabouts at this point.

I dont know what to do tbh. Go back to 10.3.3 or move on to something new.

They made iOS 11 for the X. If we're lucky they'll release some secondary 11.0.1 or something for the rest of us who are not buying the damn X.

It's because iPhone 6S is now 3 years old.

kind of agree. and all that fat bold fonts... oh well. ugly.
TRUELaLey Sister so True and agree with you. Because my 6s is also slow but not that much. It feels like iOS 13 would be da last update for iPhone 6S evar or something like that. While iPhone 7 will die at 2021
