BTW, he said "Later this month" not "Late June"
Actually no, it was said "At the end of the month". Check time 1:59:15 of the keynote video.

(Sorry youtube share won't go to exact time)

It's not like they can't push it on a wednesday, thursday or even friday..
Tomorrow would be PB on Friday. That hasn't happened before for a X.0 release. Lets just face it, net week.

Why would that be? Apple has pushed dev beta's and public beta's on the same day before. Sometimes there has been one day between them, other times there has been two days.

And who says the public beta is going to be released right after dev beta 2 to begin with?

Okay so a couple things. The first PB is always seeded 1-2 days after the DP to make sure there are no major issues before non-developers install it on daily drivers. Second, Apple has said, "end of the month" for PB 1. That means DP 2 has to be PB 1.

Quite frankly, it doesn't. Apple is fully capable of pushing a dev beta 2 this week, and another dev beta 3 next week. We've had dev beta's released on a weekly schedule in the past. Is it likely? Perhaps not, but it's not impossible.

And yeah, I know the norm for Public Beta's is to be released the day after a Dev Beta. So it's still possible for it to be released tomorrow. And it's not entirely true that all public beta's are always 1-2 days behind. We have had dev beta and public beta released on the very same day in the past.

Again, it's not very likely. But I see no reason why people should behave like they "know" when something "has to happen" when they really don't.

X.0 betas are not treated the same as X.x or X.x.x betas. That is the difference here. There has never once been a 1 week DP 2 -> DP3 of a X.0 beta. This is 100% verifiable.

Again, you did not read what I said. The first PB is always seeded 1-2 days after the DP to make sure there are no major issues before non-developers install it on daily drivers. Even X.x betas, the first PB is always 1-2 days after DP. ALWAYS.

Everything I am saying is verifiable.

Don't betas get pushed at random minutes past 10PST? *not losing hope*

On the upside, iOS11 DP1 is impressively stable.

Ever since they started doing public betas, it's taken an extra week to push the second beta out

Actually, looking back they released the second beta of iOS 9 15 days after the first. But they waited until July to do the public beta.

Whats the rush for beta 2? Longer beta 1 is in beta, better beta 2 will be. I understand its fun to get new betas, as I mentioned earlier. But I want it to be more polished rather than just getting a new beta.

If beta 2 were released today, it would still be an improvement. If we had to wait until next week, that’s an extra week of extra bugs.

Your logic is flawed. Following your logic Apple should just avoid releasing a new BETA and go straight to GM in August/September.

LOL no. Your logic is now flawed. Longer they take on the initial betas, they can fix more. Meaning potentially fewer betas are required. There is nothing in my initial statement that is a logical fallacy.

Your logic is flawed because then none of the betas could be tested and nothing would get reported/fixed. Therefore, your premise does not match your conclusion. Thats an actually logical fallacy. (Non sequitur).

I would definitely prefer more betas more often as each beta release give Apple an opportunity to find and correct bugs. Anyway there is no certainty at all that a beta won't be released later today or tomorrow, past behaviour can't be used as a prediction of future ones. One could say it's likely but not that it's "100% sure" because it really isn't.

A lot of people like myself haven’t been able to use Apple Music and the App Store with beta 1 which is why it’s a pity we have to wait another week for a fix but as it’s a beta it’s to be expected.

It’s killing me not having Apple Music on my phone but fingers crossed for next week :)

Technically Apple could push DP2 this week and PB1 next week. They could wait a week for the PB to come out. Nothing says they have to release them together. There are no rules when it comes to betas. And it still could be today or tomorrow or whenever. There are no rules or times.

There are no rules, but there are definitely times and patterns.

Guys just face it, next week. Are we really going to continue to hash this out for another 6 days?

See, I don't have either of those issues. Did you update or new install?
