11.1 Beta 2 is the GM?

If you read through this thread, you'll find that iOS 11.1. B2 is Apple internally already beta 5. The current "public" beta does not include Apple Pay Cash and iMessage in the Cloud. Though I doubt iMessage in the Cloud comes with iOS 11.1, Apple Pay Cash seems to be ready. With the second part of the new handsets coming in 2.5 weeks, the iOS 11.1 development seems to be concluded.

He hasn't posted anything on reddit in 2 or 3 days either, so may be just busy.

Again, the iphone X first shipment means nothing, they are many builds ahead internally. And I cannot imagine Beta 2 it by any means.

Since the X launch is 2 weeks from this Friday, I would expect at least 1 more beta here between now and then. There hasnt been only 2 betas on a .1 build since iOS8.

90% of the time, there is no GM for non-X.0 builds. Apple already has 11.1 final loaded on all iPhone X units that have been produced thus far. Seeding a beta 3 or 4 does them absolutely nothing because the final release of 11.1 is done. 11.1 final will be a different build than beta 2, thats a given, but that does not mean more betas will be seeded.

I remembered that and edited my post.

But the only other 2 beta .1 release was 8.1 as well.

A two beta X.1 release is definitely rare, but we are in a different era now. We have never had two iPhones released within 6 weeks of each other.

To be fair, they could have more betas at the very least to see how they are performing and if there's anything more immediate they might need to address for 11.1.1 (or .2).

I know. I said that 10 posts back.

There is literally no need to further test 11.1 being that iPhone X units have shipped. Testing 11.1 right now would only be beneficial for iOS 11.1.x or 11.2.

He has said something for the last 20 weeks when there has been something. So the fact that he has said nothing is a good indication that there isn't anything.

Extrapolation, fake news, conspiracy.

Not saying there will be or their wont be but this statement contradicts your statement earlier regarding iOS 11.0 already being installed on iP8/8+ before beta 10 was ever seeded to dev/public. So why wouldn't they continue to seed 11.1 if they did 11.0? Especially if they are already at beta 5 or whatever, why not push at least a b3 or 4 given they have the public beta program with a lot of folks using it. Or even the beta 5 they already have like they did iOS 11.0 GM that was beta 10 that was already installed on new devices weeks before they seeded it.

As stated previously and as C DM pointed out. All this does is add testing to iOS 11.1.x or 11.2. There were no changes in Beta 7-10 of iOS 11 for the release of iOS 11, but those bug fixes were probably included in iOS 11.0.1/2/3. All they would be doing is start earlier testing for future versions. It does nothing to help iOS 11.1, so there is no contradiction.

Maybe beta 3-5 include P2P Apple Pay and they don't want to seed that to developers; only keep that internally.

I would agree perhaps Apple Pay cash whatever it is may be a reason not to seed it. Especially since internally they are testing it with employees currently (using a special profile).

Oh wait it is out!
