@sunny2k1 Really would love to hear your take on what happened to Apple Pay Cash. Any prospect it will be turned on before 11.2 is released to the public? Was really disappointed that it did not get turned on yesterday. Not sure why I'm so disappointed, though, since there are other alternatives for doing this. I guess I just like the idea of it being baked into the ecosystem and not 3rd party app dependent.

My GUESS they hold the release back until iOS 11.2. Technically there was setback, mainly on the transaction level. Additionally the Trademark rejection periode in the EU and Canada expire in December. Based on my guess, they want to launch it worldwide, even though it was announced to be US only.

Does that mean that the launch of Apple Pay in Germany is imminent/planned for this year?

The activation of Apple Pay is only a hint, that the technical side is done. Theoretically Apple Pay can launch any day in the countries mentioned without needing another iOS release (normally Apple Pay launches are followed by an iOS update).

Setting up Apple Pay in Scandinavia, worked without 11.1.
So... We'll see if there is an announcement about Apple Pay with the quarter results.

I assumed that the iOS Apple Pay core engine (responsible for the transmission of the payment) was not activated by iOS 11.0.x release.

Thanks! Must have missed that. Poor Luxemburg though

Such small countries (e.g. Luxembourg, Andorra, Liechtenstein) share a Card system with a neighbor country.

Thanks for responding. Was worried they had carried you off to the Apple Dungeons for revealing what you know!

Looks like it’s a higher builder number to me.
Yep. Perhaps beta 2 for the rest of the iOS world could be 15C5097x potentially. Not a huge jump but if released Monday then only a week later than b1 so a big jump may not be expected. That would also sync things up so b3 could be released across the board at the same time in another week or two.
