Ah I see now thanks. Beta 4 last Tuesday so maybe it will drop today as well.
Yeah I am thinking the final will be next or at least final build if they happen to call it beta 6. Sunny indicated a full iOS build was pushed Friday to the bank folks. So most likely we will get that next. Probably as a final beta build that ends up being the actual release. And yeah tomorrow or Thursday looking more likely.
I‘m told, that Apple shipped a new beta build to the banks as two banks reported a hole within the Apple Pay authorization process. It is unknown whether old builds also contains this issue...
Additionally my source acknowledged that the new beta build may already be ready for shipping if there are no further security issues within the Apple Pay. The source “wouldn’t be suprised” if there’s no further beta for developers and public testers.
The only changes within iOS 11.2.5 is the adoption of Apple Pay in new countries. It might be the case that the Apple Pay launch will be delayed until February.

Fingers crossed for Germany and the Netherlands. Belgium would be nice too. It's about time this part of the world gets some Apple love....

Hearing a scatchy rumor that the last beta(s) shipped to financial institutes were "GM-like" betas as they were non beta build versions. With the new issue regarding the iMessage issue crashing iOS, they may want to fix it prior releasing iOS 11.2.5.
It looks more and more that Apple releases iOS 11.2.5 alongside the HomePod.
Apple may not activate Apple Pay on the sever side until February.
An interesting side note here: The basic version of the german Apple Pay Engine (activated in iOS 11) was 1.0. Currently it is a 2.0 version. It looks like that Apple invested a lot in developing the german engine lately. The US engine is for example at 1.5.

At least no betas for the public/developer if something drastically changes. There are basically no relevant changes. All changes are more or less under the hood. The only reason they shipped it is whether it is working with the apps.
Apple needed to "improve" the German Engine in general, as the Girocard is a german-only solution. The VPay/Maestro adaption for Europe can be used for pretty much every country. This explains for me the version bump of the German Apple Pay Engine. This may also be a reason, why Apple delayed the launch in Germany.
Apple realised or got an input by a German Bank that launching in Germany without the support of the Girocard may be less the success than Apple thought. It is a open rumour that the banks are willing to adopt Apple Pay (if the economic parameters are fitting) as they need to be attractive to customers.
