At least no betas for the public/developer if something drastically changes. There are basically no relevant changes. All changes are more or less under the hood. The only reason they shipped it is whether it is working with the apps.



Apple needed to "improve" the German Engine in general, as the Girocard is a german-only solution. The VPay/Maestro adaption for Europe can be used for pretty much every country. This explains for me the version bump of the German Apple Pay Engine. This may also be a reason, why Apple delayed the launch in Germany.

Apple realised or got an input by a German Bank that launching in Germany without the support of the Girocard may be less the success than Apple thought. It is a open rumour that the banks are willing to adopt Apple Pay (if the economic parameters are fitting) as they need to be attractive to customers.

Considering there are still outstanding bugs e.g. Attention Awareness features not working for some. I’d be surprised if there wasn’t another beta this week.
