If Apple will have their usual 14-days between releases, and all rumours points to a new public beta on monday that would normally mean we should get a new dev beta today. That would also be 14-days since the previous dev beta.

No, 14 days would be today. But we got the revision last Monday, meaning 2 weeks would technically be this coming Monday if you count the revision as another build. It was still technically a different build number. Them releasing the beta on a Wednesday threw everything off.

That revision won't count as it wasn't available for all devices.

True, but with this being a really short week, who knows. There are too many variables compared to normal releases. I still think it might come today, as I am very hopeful, but Monday does make sense. Get back to normal. Monday for DP and Tuesday/Wednesday for PB.

He got one prediction correct. We'll see if he's correct a second time in 47 min
Either at 6pm or 9pm uk time is when we might see a possible beta. If it isn’t today then I’ll be really disappointed. Apple have had 2 weeks to sort out bugs and I’m pretty sure they’ve received a lot of bug complaints through the feedback app, pretty sure 2 weeks is enough for them to update everything and release a new build

I meant to type today, not tomorrow. And I highly doubt they count dev beta 2.1 as a build, it was only released for a limited range of devices.

The majority of devices did get it though, I think it was 22/33 that got the revision. So I wouldn't classify that as "limited".

Are DPs normally out on a Monday? Thought that was more for "real" releases? I think b3 will drop today.

But it was still labelled as iOS 11 Dev Beta 2 Update 1, clearly not counted as a regular build by any means.

It was only for iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini I 3, iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPad 5, iPad Pro, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6 and iPhone SE.
So all but the 6s/7 and 10.5/12.9 iPads...

I understand what you are saying but you are guessing just as much as I am.

Also the build just increased from 15A5304i to 15A5304j. Cleary there was something fishy going on with older devices that forced Apple to release a new build rather quickly. Just like they had to do with the macOS High Sierra dev beta as well. I don't think, and I really hope not that would effect their release schedule going forward because iOS 11, watchOS 4 and macOS High Sierra BETA's are in a really rough spot at the moment. And even though people using developer previews can't complain, they also decided to release the public beta this early in the testing phase making it a tad bit more urgent to start fixing things.

Yes, it was a revision build because of the downgrade issue. But who even said Apple is going to return to the 14 day schedule for this build? You are assuming that that is what they want to do. The first build was 16 days and it led to a Wednesday. I guarantee you before September, we will be back to Monday releases for betas. Apple has already hinted that by releasing the revised build on a Monday.

With the bugs in the current release I'm personally hoping for DB3 today and PB2 tomorrow. I'd perfer Monday for PB but since it is generally released a day or two after DB (or later that day in some cases) I think it would be unlikely they'd wait until Monday if we get the Dev version today unless there were a big issue that needed fixing before public release first.

Only time will tell but, at the least, I hope the issue with force closing apps is resolved since it can make the already bad battery life even worse if a GPS enabled app or one that fetches data is open and having trouble closing without rebooting the device each time it happens.

Yeah, thus far this has been the roughest early developer previews from Apple in a long time. I think we have to go back to the first releases of iOS 7 to find something similar. But that was a major overhaul of the entire UX and whatnot.

Battery life has been really bad, and it got worse with dev beta 2. It's even worse for watchOS 4 where battery life with dev beta 2 makes the Apple Watch pretty much unusable at it's current state. So hopefully we get some fresh new builds this week.

Yes I can agree that the Apple watch is almost unusable in beta 2. Hoping for new builds!

Are you using a Series 0?

I'm starting to think Series 0 is severely underpowered to handle much of anything. Not sure it is just Beta bugginess.

If Apple has a faster Series 3 to go alongside new iPhones in September, I will have to seriously consider it. After 2 years of wearing Apple Watch, my determination is that speed = everything. I'm happy with its feature set, and any iterative improvements. But it just needs to be fast fast fast. Apple Watch wins when it is fast enough to complete a task without it being laborious. If it is ever faster to take your phone out and do something that way, Apple Watch loses.

I have a Series 2, but I had a SS Series 0 before. Yes, I really hope that the Series 3 is a big upgrade!

I honestly don't think we will get a new watch this September. I think Apple is going to keep a 18 month cycle for watches, so its spread out a little bit so it's not as painful for users to upgrade.

Except the most recent one to be released...
You mean the one iOS 11 beta and the couple of 10.3.3? I didn't say all, I said vast supermajority over 24 months.
