Beta 7 has been working flawlessly for me so not as excited for another beta but welcoming any fixes.

Has Reddit guy said anything about beta 8 today?

Do media invites usually go out 2 weeks prior?

9 days prior

Last year they sent out 8/29 (today/Monday) for the 9/7 (Wednesday after) event. So if not today or tomorrow the chance of next week is slim; likely the 12/13th.

My GUESS is they want to try hard to have it in the Steve Jobs theater being the 10th anniversary which isnt quite ready for the public. https://9to5mac.com/2017/08/24/apple-park-drone-footage-steve-jobs-theater/

I wonder if we'll get a same-time release for PB this week, seeing as it's likely the final beta.

Actually he didn't mention a date, he just said there would be one more beta.

True, but the previous shortest time between final beta and GM was 12 days (iOS10, much longer on prior x.0 releases).

So if the event is coming up on the 12th as previously rumored (and today per CNBC, Dow Jones, and WSJ; some heavy hitter names all saying the same date), beta 8 would be early to mid week this week.

But after dev beta 7 there should also come the public version

Nope. There will be another beta this week (probably today). Dev Beta 7 (= PB6) and Dev Beta 8 (= PB7) will technically be Beta 1 and Beta 2 for a probable close iOS 11.0.1. iOS 11.0 is technically frozen (no changes to the code) and will be seeded as GM on September 12th resp. a week later as public release and on the new devices.

So it’s looking like the exact same dates as 2012 with them sending out invites on Sept 4th and the event being on the 12th.

They might need to send out the invites by Friday as next monday is a holiday in the USA (Labour Day)

The builds are the same just version numbers are different because devs only get the 1st one. So the 2nd dev version is the 1st public version but are the same builds. So the PB will always be one number behind as far as what its named but is technically the same build.

[Edit] Not always 1 behind as potentially devs may get like 3 versions before it goes public.

Because they never push the GM during the beta phase? Its always at the event. This isn't different than any other year. Thats why X.0.1 usually comes out within a week of the public being released. For fixes that were reported late in the beta stage. Its not all assumptions and speculation. Its been this way for 10 years.
Not sure why you get so defensive when someone questions something you post. The "assumptions and speculation" statement was referring to MY post comments. But technically, you are assuming and speculating too. Unless you happen to work for Apple on the iOS team and have some insider info. :)

Wasn't the last iOS 10 beta also the GM build? AFAIK the iOS10 GM build number was identical to the last iOS 10 beta we got before the keynote.

You're right, i remember that from last year. The last iOS 10 beta (also beta 8?) last year turned out to be the GM of iOS 10.0.

I don’t think there will be a new beta today, but I’ve been wrong before.

That reminds me, I have to install the profile again since I did a fresh restore to Beta 7, lol

Don't think so. The last beta PB7/DP8 was build 14A5346a and the GM was build 14A403. It was a weird one because GM 10.0 was actually 10.0.1 and the 10.0.1 had a beta that was 14A5403a (same build but beta versioning number with the "5" and the "a")

Last year GM was 10.0.1, while iPhone 7/7Plus shipped with 10.0.0. There was something that was changed last minute between the production of the phone and the release of the GM at the event. None of which were beta builds.
