Maybe we’ll see a GM candidate 1 instead of beta 8? It would be nice to shake things a little....

There is no point in seeding a GM candidate before the event. It will be too late to change anything.
Do you remember when was the last time we got a GM candidate? I don’t remember if it was with iOS or with OS X.

Beta 8 today together with 10.10.4 Beta 1! I know it from the one and only Serban. :p

Did "Reddit Guy" specify a date this time?

GM candidate is what goes out at the event.
I mean a release actually called GM Candidate 1, before a Candidate 2 and so on. If I’m not mistaken it was for OS X Yosemite. Doesn’t have anything to do with iOS...

I think he said one more beta, and that’s it.

Yes it was Yosemite that had two candidates ahead of release. Although it's just called GM on iOS it could still change to a newer build until release if they are not even jumping directly to 11.0.1 like last year.

Thanks, thats what I heard too, then I didn't miss anything.

Yeah, I know that builds can change before release but my point was more in regards of the naming scheme. I know Apple probably won’t change it.

The GM candidate for Yosemite still came after the event. Yosemite was released later than iOS 8.0. Typically all GMs come out the same day, but Yosemite was released a month after iOS so they released the GM candidates to prepare for the final build. That was a unique situation.

Well, this seems like a boring release. We will have to see what the new iPhone has to add to iOS 11.

It’s not entirely relevant. No. But if you want to get technical it’s not the iOS 11 Beta RELEASE DATE spectulation thread.
But you went from talking about a GM candidate, to calling iOS 11 boring. I guess I'm confused why you bothered to quote me in your post, as it did not pertain to the pervious conversation.

Maybe I misunderstood your post.
