Well I’m still finding new bugs, lol. I tried making a call and the audio went through my AirPods for some reason, even though they were in the case.

Reported it.
None of these bugs would be fixed by the GM anyway. Essentially all of these last few builds are pre-testing of 11.0.1/11.0.2.

We often hear from forum members that some issue which was fixed in earlier release has again cropped up in a later release.
Does it mean that the underlying code of different releases are worked out independently of each other and the fixes in one release are not taken care of in the other release automatically.

i'm sorry but I still don't understand how those things work , according to you the GM has almost nothing to do with this beta 10 , but their build number are almost the same (people here say they are actually the same except they added new wallpapers and removed all beta stuff)
So is GM = Beta 10 or Beta 10 = IOS 11.0.1 ?

The GM is very similar to beta 10. Whether it has anything to do with 11.0.1 is unclear. Such an update could be completed already. Could just be a last minute search for show stopping bugs.

Of course any existing bugs will have to be addressed in future releases.

Beta 10 appears to be very similar to the GM. Meaning nothing reported in beta 9/10 will be fixed in the GM. So anything reported over the last 1-2 weeks won't be fixed until 11.0.1 at the earliest.

Here’s a request for a different kind of speculation: will there be anything in the GM in the way of new features that will also work on existing phones? Is there any history of this happening before?

I don’t believe so. Anything new feature wise will be new iPhone only. We have plenty of examples of this in the past. Only the newest get those features.

And makes sense. Only hope was for something that would be a tent pole for new device but might work in some way on existing devices (say some ARKit magic that might work on 7+ because it has 2 lenses)

Does anything AR related even require two lenses? The second lense is really only used for a good amount of distance. The second lense is always in a 2x zoom state.

I believe something will, but I may be thinking of some other feature. I guess we'll find out on Tuesday!

It’s not essential but I’d guess it makes AR more accurate as it can get a better sense of depth due to binocular vision

So, um, are we expecting final iOS 11 to drop on the day of the keynote, or are we going to get a GM at that time and have the release a week or so later? Can't remember how it was earlier.

The GM should be released after the keynote. Beta profile is needed to receive the GM, as it is not a public release. The public release will occur later.

EDIT: This is about OTA installation.

Usually the main iOS release drops around a week after the keynote, but before the shipping of the new devices starts. I see a release around the 18th. The version will likely be iOS 11.0.1 with an update to iOS 11.0.2 the following week. Aside from the first beta of iOS 11.1 (probably with Apple Pay Cash and iMessage iCloud sync).
