Using an iPhone 8 and not a fan of a few things. Mainly the font size. It is far too big and a lot of apps look clunky and dated. Smaller screen of the 8 coupled with text size makes everything look cramped. There's a lot of range if you want to adjust font size larger but going smaller is really lacking. I've been replacing as many default apps as I can just to get smaller fonts.

Another disappointment is still the standard keyboard. Why doesn't it have long press to access symbols? An option to have a numerical row? I really don't care about emojis and all the other nonsense. Just make it more usable so that I don't have to bring up another keyboard just to use common punctuation, numbers and type out email addresses etc.

Animations are still too slow even after adjustment. For a brand new phone it's hampered by transitions and other UI implementations.

Is there a way that when I take a screen shot it can just automatically go to my camera roll as before?
I take about 50 screenshots a day when working on my phone to email on, now I have to screen shot, tap on the photo, hit "done" then save to camera roll, which I get if you take the odd screenshot, but for someone who takes 50+ a day its a real pain in the a$$

Why do you do this? The screenshots are saved automatically. You just need to tap in case you want to delete them right from the place where you took them, so you don't have to exit and go to photos.

In fact, it looks like you doing what was intended in reverse.

Like @cola79 said, all you have to do is let them be in the bottom left hand corner and after a few seconds, they’ll “slide off to the left” into your camera roll. You don’t have to go into each one and action them.

It’s always interesting to me how much use-cases differ from person to person. It didn’t occur to me until now that someone might need it to work the old way. :)

Or they might use that gesture or something close to it for something else. Or perhaps many typical users were unexpectedly invoking it and not liking it and the low usage of the actual feature prompted them to remove it.

Many 'typical' users didn't even know how to invoke it, let alone know what its function is. Btw, I read that they are going to add back that feature in the next few updates. GG

I really don’t like this new control center/lock screen. I just find it really awkward that when I drag down expecting the control center, I instead see my lock screen and I can no longer clear multiple notifications at the same time (unless I’m not seeing it or something), instead swiping each one to remove it. Some menu animations also feel slow; it feels like it takes longer to exit or load an app, for example.

Also, everything is rounded, and I mean EVERYTHING. It’s okay if done right and/or subtly, but this specifically is an eyesore:

And lastly, a lot of the fonts and such are huge. I have a regular 6s and I feel like I have the accessibility setting for big font sizes enabled even when I have it set to second to smallest size. I can’t imagine how it looks for 5S/SE users.

Other than that (and some apps freezing for no apparent reason), it’s a stable release for me that I can live with.

Why would you expect control center when you drag down?

I assume they meant Notification Center.

You can still 3D Touch one of the little "x" buttons (or at least the one at the top; that's the one I always use) to clear them all.

Have 11.01 on my 7+, IPP 12 g2 and IP Mini4
Like other updates it has its hits and misses.
I did not participate in the Beta.

Now ... on to my take after using it since the 19th.

I loaded all via OTA. Had major issues with the 7+. Reached out to Apple and we tried a few things.
Ended up reseting as new and installing all from scratch - they felt there might be something corrupted in the BU.
Guess not as the reset fixed the issue temporarily. They came back just prior to the 11.01 update.
Issues: Screen freezes, app crashes, app password info loss.

Impression - So far I will say ... meh.

Pros:
Control Center Customization - wish it was more than a row
Screenshot edits - helps for on the fly shots
Better information in Health - better breakdown and detail. Not sure yet on overall accuracy
Scrolling in Safari is better - smoother

Cons:
Screen freezes, app crashed on launch - even after help from Apple, they still exist.
Control Center WiFi and BT switches - they are not what they say. Disconnect vs, Turn Off
Font size in some headers
Home Button delay - more of an annoyance
Excessive animations; even in Reduced Motion
Pencil lag on my IPP 12 g2
Files turned out to be far less useful than envisioned
Cell signal use of numbers removed
Mail does a lot of work in the background but takes longer to load on open
App Auto Update - you now need to pull-down the update screen to see if you have hanging updates
My number of iCrap apps has not dropped with this release
Widget bugs - Calendar shows upcoming event but is showing future, not current. Ex: I have an appt at 13:00 and 15:00. At noon it only shows the 15:00 and beyond, not the upcoming 13:00.

TBD:
Battery life
- iPhone 7+ about 20% lower by lunch than 10.3.3
- IPP 12 g2 burns through battery much faster. I get 2 days at most vs. 3-4 on 10.3.3
- IP Mini 4 appears to be close
-- 7+ takes longer to charge - just my feeling. No hard data to confirm this.

Overall Speed Feel - sluggish. The animation changes are excessive. Even with reduced motion.
Have been running for a week. It has some benefits but overall I would call it a bit of a letdown.

Update: added another Con. :(

I have to amend my previous review a bit as I’ve noticed major RAM management problems. iOS 11 seems to have a lot of trouble keeping apps loaded in the background. A lot worse than 10.3.3.

The bad

- Count me as one of the people who doesn't like that the notification shade looks like the lock screen. Disorienting.

Overall maybe an 8/10.

I give big UI changes some time, but I just can’t get used to the notification shade. It doesn’t add any value in terms of experience. I also lost the permanent search bar with one swipe down and there’s a huge clock taking up space which is not needed when swiping down to check notifications. I usually understand things I don’t like by trying to see Apple’s thought process, but the notification shade turned into the lock screen makes no sense to me with the exception of having the full audio control now available with one swipe there since they’re reduced in the control center until you 3D Touch

I had only noticed the permanent search bar (accessed by a "gentle" swipe down) in iOS 10 fairly recently; while it's not something I ever used, it is interesting to see that it has indeed been removed.

I love it.
• GIF MOFOing support.
• One handed keyboard.
• Drag-n-Drop in multiple environments.
• Siri - Instant translation, new realistic sounding voice.
• Animations - Much nicer and feels better. Like the slide-in Multitask, the slow bur of the control panel, parallax when opening and closing apps.
• Screen recording.
• Notes - Pinning and slide left to move to folders, instant notes from lock screen.
• Files app - Even though developers are still catching up.
• Typed info saved in any application, stays even after closing app or page refresh.

My cons:
• Slightly more stuttering in certain instances but improved in others.
• Lots of crashes initially.
• Large bold fonts on top of mail, etc. Looks like Microsoft branding.
• Photo album title repeats itself due to Memories added in every album at the top.

Mostly enjoy it.

Wish music had notifications. Wish it had swipe up to multi task. Wish it had reach ability + swipe down for notifications.

No real complaints.

The dock on the ipad is nice. The improvements to notes (better pencil support, scanning) is nice.
It has a bunch of security updates.
Drag and drop is nice.

Other than that... no complaints.

Running in iPad Pro 10.5 and an iPhone 7.

I think 11 was a big fail. It seems like it is another attempt to destroy older phones via update. All models below the 8 have huge battery drain.

Also the usability is crap. Instead of simply working with files from the apps, you now have to upload them into the files app, what means you need to upload them from your phone to icloud first, even if you want to upload them to other services like google drive etc..

I will stay with 10.3.3 now, as it was the last stable ios version for models below 8.

Seems like not all or even close to that are experiencing those things.
