I found 2 bugs.

First bug.
If I set volume to mute via volume buttons, the iPhone still makes sound when I get txt messages. Had to use the mute click button on the side of the phone.

That's not a bug – you just have the volume buttons set to control media volume instead of ringer and alerts. If you want the buttons to control ringer and alerts, select that option under Sound & Haptics in the Settings menu: IMG_1764.jpg

I do, but with reservations. iOS is becoming complicated enough that it's no longer a 'no instructions needed' device that you could just hand to a very non-technical person and forget about it. It's time for me to update my mom's iPad. I'm not looking forward to it. I still have PTSD from when she used a PC.

I like it on the iPad, but it feels totally useless on my iPhone apart the smart invert colours feature. File app is totally useless as I expected with mediocre integration of one drive, Google Drive etc. Plus local files not supported yet for the app I have.

Overall, great update for the iPad, but on the iPhone there is nothing really new worth upgrading and the new features are disappointing so far.
Why is file app useless?

I'm sorry to hear about her situation in the past.

Just updated to the public release today. I tried it back in the first beta but downgraded to iOS 10.

So far so good. I do notice the odd bug: have to quite messages in order to reply if I try to quick respond, among other minor bugs.

I quite enjoy the new control centre, however I’d like for the currently playing portion to have its own “screen” or tab like in iOS 10. Personal preference though.

Apart from that, I’ll continue to play around with it and report back in a day or so
I agree with personal preference.

It's been like that way before iOS 10.

Hmmm... won’t argue with you on it. I’m guessing with iOS 11 the setting reverted back to default? And I simply don’t remember changing it when I initially set up the iPhone ?

Still learning, thanks for setting me straight.

Sorry, can you clarify what functions you're talking about?
I see people complaining not because for the sake complaining...but complaining because something in ios shouldn't be functioning like that when it should function like this. For example: some people complain about the notch on iphone x when it shouldn't be like that. I know others would gladly accept it. I know this example is not ios, but i'm trying to bring the concept to ios.

Is there something in ios that doesn't make sense of having?

I like most of the improvements, especially screen recording, smoother scrolling in Safari, the ability to sync People albums from Photos across devices, and the customization of control center.

Here's the few things I don't like:

1. The music widget being removed from control center and pinned at the top of the lock screen, so if I get notifications while listening to music, they go under the music widget instead of going to the top of the screen like iOS 10.

IMG_4064-1.jpeg

2. Notification center being gone, and replaced with "Cover Sheet." If I wanted to look at my lock screen, I'd lock my phone and look at it. I want to see the notification at the top of my phone, not the giant time and date and then my notifications.

3. The app bar under the text field in Messages.

4. No ability to clear all notifications.

5. Turning off WiFi and Bluetooth in Control Center doesn't actually turn them off, it just disconnects from the current network or device.

There is a new info/setting in Cellular option. Even shows my plan and usage for this month and even a T-Mobile logo.
There is a phone number for customer service (it’s 611 same as atf&t) and a link to log in to my T-Mobile account.
And ability to make calls from my WiFi iPad. I’ll have to test this later.

On my 6s, 3dt the "x" and you get a menu to clear all notifications. Unfortunately there does not seem to be a way to clear the notifications in one fell swoop on my 5s.

Hmm. iOS 11 doesn't feel that much different to me when it comes to functionality than iOS 10, and iOS 10 makes sense to me. It feels like there's always a compromise with Apple though, and iOS 11 is the same way.

iOS 11 added functionality with the new customizable control center and new capabilities such as screen recordings. Apple finally added a toggle for cellular data and battery saver in control center. But then they disabled functionality by making you have to go into the settings app to fully turn off Wifi and Bluetooth. Also, it's very easy to tap the wrong button because the music controls in control center are so small now. I think control center overall is an improvement since they made it one page instead of two (I always accidentally swipe the pages when I'm trying to lower brightness in control center on iOS 10) and added functionality.

They added Apple Pay via iMessage and iMessages in iCloud. Two very useful features, but neither are available yet. Apple added better image compression for more storage which is great. I also think the visual changes to iOS 11 are a great improvement. I like having my lock screen as my Notification Center. It's prettier.

But then Apple goes and removes certain functionality for seemingly no reason, like the reachability and multitasking gestures I mentioned earlier. You also can't clear all notifications at once anymore.

So yes, I'd say iOS 11 adds functionality but it also takes away some too.

#3. I think it’s a good feature, let’s you quickly share info with a person you texting.
Starbucks app, lets you pay for your friends coffee or send money to your friends Starbucks app ? I haven’t added any payment info to my phone, so Starbucks asks me to set up Apple Pay.

Disable Message App Bar

Missing X To clear All notifications at once?

I like iOS 11. I have been using it since it DB1. The only problem I have had (which is recent) is a noticeable lag when attempting to attach a picture to a message to send.
[doublepost=1505875259][/doublepost]I forgot to mention, that I miss the iMessage sync feature that we got to see a glimpse of in one of betas. I hope that it returns on the 25th.

I've just installed it on my ipad air 2. I really like the drag and drop feature. Disappointed about the lack of the file system. And really confused how to do split screen with apps that are open but aren't on the dock.

Drag and drop sounds nice.

The updated design with bolder fonts, more padding and filled icons is beautiful! The new CC is perfect and Smart Invert Colours is cherry on top. Of course this could use some optimization and tweaks here and there but overall happy with the update. Also animations are blazing fast!!! (6s here)

Is there a way to preview a text message in Notification Center like before? (Previously you could have it set where just the name of the contact appeared and if you swiped down for Notification Center you would see a preview of the message)

I absolutely dislike how the name of the menu you are in is in bold at the top like Settings, Messages, Mail. Makes the OS feel more basic/bland.

Other than the visual changes the added features are welcomed.

Pretty solid on my 6S Plus so far besides a bug where when I'm moving icons on the home screen, the x doesn't disappear. Really looking forward to using Siri more with the third-party apps that support it, and for it to get better. Just to try it out, I told it to mark one of my Streaks goals as complete and it told me Fantastical couldn't do that. o_O
