is this not beta software
No its direct links to Apple. In fact you cant get beta software there.

interesting....I did not know that. People keep saying to download the IPSW but if you don't have access to the developer portal where do you go? (please no pirate sites) ???
Several sites have direct links to Apples servers. One is the ipsw.me as mentioned. Always look to make sure any links are directly to Apple if you use these.

It was at the top for me immediately after the restart but has since been at the bottom. Seems like it's only up top when you need to swipe up to bring up the passcode entry to unlock.

Yes just confirmed that erroring out the FaceID even once will put it at the top and pause the scan until you swipe again.

Is this new? The swipe to unlock is at the top now?

It also has the circular scanning animation now. Happens so fast that I can’t get a screenshot of it.

Multi core score on Geekbench 4 still way down on my 8 plus running the official 12.1, same performance as was on beta 5

This started on beta 5 for me and carried over to the official 12.1 release

Mine have always been mid 10,000 range until recently

Yes, it looks like the message gets put at the top anytime FaceID gets disabled: device restart, too many passcode attempts or disabling FaceID by pressing Vol Up + Side button for 2 seconds. It's a good idea since that's where I always look when trying to Unlock w/FaceID.

I saw this in iOS 12.1 beta 5 and now in the final version in WhatsApp.

  • Some apps like Google Maps and Clash Royale will lag on iPhone X and above: Open the affected app, for example Google Maps. Do not do anything else, just minimize your brightness to the lowest. Now, you will see the app's FPS number has been drastically decreased, try to do circles in the map, you will see it is laggy. To make it smooth again, you can: A) Start screen recording or B) Increase brightness.
I definitely do not have this bug after installing 12.1, but I don’t know if I had it before—never tried it.
  • On an iPhone X, XS, and XS Max, if your home screen have multiple pages, go to a different page other than main, then swipe up to get to your main page. After you quickly want to open anything in the Dock, you can't, you need to wait a few seconds to be able to do it.
I did experience this bug on 12.1b5. After installing official 12.1 on my Max this afternoon, I am not experiencing this bug.

Anyone still seeing the phantom device in Screen Time?

I have one iPhone and IPad but upgraded my iPhone a few weeks ago.
I’ve had this blank device name there since.

Thought iOS 12.1 may have resolved it.

strange dunno why im seeing it, ill let the update settle maybe will fix its self

I hate to offer this option but maybe a Reset All Settings might help? I used to do this with every beta and never ran into major issues others complained about. It sucks because you have to reset some of your presets and Apple Pay but it isn’t as bad as a factory reset.

was happening to me as well.. read on another forum that there is no way to remove devices from screentime yet, per apple. There is also no way to get more detail about which device that is.
