I can verify this. Like other public beta testers on 12.1b5, I deleted the beta profile, went to Settings > Software update and was shown iOS 12 not 12.1.

I installed anyway and got iOS 12.1, build number 16B92 which is the correct build number for today's public release of 12.1.

excellent....with Apple no longer signing iOS 12 any more (unless the guy running the OS headers runs the signing servers :0) it was a measured risk...

Modem is same 1.01.30 on max which was on beta 5 of 12.1 so I dunno if the call drops will be fixed unless the new build fixed it in software?

iPad Pro 10.5 Cellular. No way to change or add a different plan anymore now. What the F#%* !

Can't offer real definitive evidence, but sitting at my desk in so so Verizon LTE area, my average has been 7-10 Mbps. Immediately after update, it is now running 20-30 Mbps. Checked it immediately before and after update. Guess we'll see.

I recommend downloading the IPSW instead of going OTA if you're coming from iOS 12.1 B5.

wish iw ould have seen that, i removed BEta profile, it irt downlaoded 12.0 over 12.1 effd my phone up, had to do a wipe install IPSW and then do a restore of data from 12.1 beta 5, it sucked major ass

Updated 8 Plus and 9.7 Pro, each on Verizon. Strange. Carrier updated to 34.0.1 and 34.1 respectively. 34.0.1 for the iPhone but a larger version 34.1 on an iPad?

How was your phone "effd up"? According to everybody else 12.1 was downloaded even though their phone said it was 12.

I've got 19 hours before I can comment on it.

It was downloading 12.1, it just mistakenly had the 12.0 text

Can anyone tell me how it's running on slightly older devices? Better or worse than 12.0.1? Your initial impressions.

Seems to be smooth enough on my 7 Plus and iPad Pro 10.5.

Installing now on a 6 Plus and iPad Air 2, but 12.1 beta 5 was running well on those.

12.0.1 for some inexplicable reason screwed my battery real bad and only a replacement fixed it. So I'm kinda skeptical about updates now.

Just be aware.

If you don’t delete the beta profile and just install via the .ipsw your device will try to redownload beta 5 especially if you have auto updates on.

As I said earlier in the thread:
remember that if you are not planning on leaving the beta seed, Apple may have deliberately kept you on 12.1 beta 5 as they may plan on releasing 12.2 beta 1 tomorrow, so no need to remove the profile or anything like it unless you want to leave beta.

You'll get 12.2 tomorrow as the changes between beta 5 and public 12.1 release are more than minor for 24 hours

My FaceID unlock on Max has a horrible delay now, done a restore but it shouldn't be delayed anyone noticing that unlocking phone
