Is anyone else getting really bad battery life with this beta? Mine is loosing 10% in an hour or so just sitting in my pocket, whereas normally that would be 1-2%

Battery life has been unchanged compared to B2.

Last night, my iPhone XR running 12.3 became unresponsive, and wouldn't come back on no matter what I did, but 10 minutes later, it came back on by itself. Today, it ran normally until tonight when it once again became unresponsive, and nothing I do makes it come back on.

Any suggestions?

Wait for the next beta. Freezing randomly has been happening here too and other people.

My lockscreen flashlight and camera button are often hidden too. I need to swipe down or up a bit to reveal them.

I never saw that, but is this pull-down-to-refresh thing new in the contacts app?

I’m sick of having to enable air plane mode to get safari to work or App Store as not loading search results etc

They royally f’d up safari in this release and the Data connections. I get that it’s a beta but these kinds of issues shouldn’t creep in this late in the game.

These garbage intel modems and apples terrible software equate to misery in ownership

Yep. They borked Safari and connections. I’ve been using Edge, except for forums here. For some reason, Edge won’t let me comment in the reply box. Weird.

Anyway, I hope they undo whatever they did in b3. I want a stable Safari.

Yes, all of it reported.

Put the charger in, it should have some activity. Report back, and depending on what activity happened, we can help specifically. :)

No activity whatsoever putting the charger in, whether plugged into the wall socket or a Mac or PC.

I did manage to get my phone to come back on using a hard reset though.

It turns out I've apparently been doing it wrong on the iPhone XR. I've apparently only done a "force restart" on the iPhone XR. On an iPhone 8 or later, you're supposed to "press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Power button until the device restarts." The second time I tried that last night, it came back on.

Thanks to you and ram130 for your help.

After four days of moderate to heavy usage on iPhone XS Max, I've had only one problem: the safari bug that crashes safari when you try to enter "forum.macrumors.com" into the URL box. Like others have found, it crashes every time upon typing the "c". (I've reported it.)

But absolutely no other problems. Performance is snappy and fluid. Battery life is very good. I've installed this beta on my 10.5" iPP and my 2019 Mini, and no problems with either (except the safari bug).

I know other folks here have been experiencing very real and frustrating problems, and I'm certainly not trying to diminish them.

But it might be helpful for some to know that not everyone is having a bad experience with this beta.

Not having a lot of problems on this beta.. but I definitely can tell that it’s not as smooth and fluid as before. Just random small things. Safari or messages or music. Nothing concrete. But just random quirks.
