iOS 12 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Unless I'm missing something... notifications group on your lock screen, until Face ID recognises you and then they all expand - is there a way to keep them grouped, without turning on the "never preview" option? When I click on the group, I still want to be able to see what the messages say (if Face ID has triggered) instead of just "iMessage" for example, but I also don't want all of the groups to auto-expand when I glance at my lock screen.

Omg yes, same goes for siri and app activity in background. If you turn either of them off or set them to “dont allow” in the new restrictions menu, it will be completely disabled......had to set up as new to get siri back.

Not sure what changed, maybe it needed a burn in period, but I’m able to allow sites now. I’m not going to try adjusting the restrictions level yet, for fear of reverting back to being locked out. But I will try that after work.
 
I got a screen time bug this morining where almost every app on my phone was unavailable with a message saying I’ve reached my limit. There was a sand timer icon next to each app. It lasted for a minute or so and then went away.

In case this wasn't clear lol, see video below. This is what happens when I pick up my phone, and then FaceID recognises me/unlocks. I don't want everything to automatically expand. Feels like it defeats the purpose of grouping if as soon as you look everything goes back to normal anyway.

This behavior irritates me as well. I also don't want all the notifications to expand after Face ID unlocks, as it completely defeats the purpose of the new grouping feature. I hope in the next beta they change this.

Yep noticed that too. Very annoying. The auto expand seems to be governed by the space available on the lock screen currently. Just sent myself several emails as a test and they didn't expand at all due to lack of screen space (due to current music controls). Hoping for a change in behaviour or at least an option over the coming betas for the manual option

That happens because they have the space to expand. If they were other notifications from others app and the screen was full, they would've stayed stacked

I can't get OpenVPN to stay connected either. As soon as the app is sent to the background, the VPN disconnects.

EDIT - so got really curios and just tested this on my iPad that I upgraded to iOS 12.. and it worked! downloaded the iOS 11.4.1 ispw - loaded up iTunes - hold option on my Mac and choose "upgrade" and it goes through the motions and "upgrades" it / reverts to iOS 11.4.1..

so those who need to go back (maybe due to exchange bugs)... looks like there's a somewhat clean way back!

Be careful if you have an apple watch though and UNPAIR it first...

Yup, this has always worked. It’s not really the best way to do it I’m sure, but it has worked for years.

I see, I see. Makes sense. Still, I'd prefer it the other way - or at least the option lol.
 
updated the modem firmware and carrier version for unlocked/Qualcomm iPhone 7+
