Is anyone having trouble just downloading and installing iOS 12? My phone seems to be hung up on “Update Requested”!!

A warning! Beta 2 has been highly unstable on the X! I have enabled bed time option in the clock app and when the reminder came on, flash started to blink as crazy, the sound and notifications started to flicker and my phone froze completely! I couldn’t reset or turn it off in any way.. All I could do was to put it on silent and wait for the battery to die :S Early this day, before this, a similar thing happened to me.. when I disconnected a call to my friend, my phone literally froze where NOTHING worked the screen was on all the time with a blurred back of my home screen.

Lost all of my nerves today with this beta from HELL!

The GPS has gotten significantly worse after the first couple days with this beta. Location does not update, app freezes, all maps apps (google, Apple) have no idea where I am. Really hope a fix comes soon. Weird how it took a couple days to stop functioning.

Hard reset fixed it for a little while.

Has this been reported yet? My 3rd party Keyboards have been removed and do not see any option to re add them.

Anyone have this?

The mail alerts are not working right. And for the vibration you can’t even synchronize it to the tone.

Hi, I installed the beta a couple of days ago, everything worked fine for a while, and boom! all of a sudden yesterday evening, in both WhatsApp and Skype I can receive and make calls, but the calls will not connect and of course I cannot hear people on the other end and they can’t hear me.
Chats/text messages still work fine.

Bummer...

Any good ideas/solution ???

Thank you very much,
Kostis

Remove those apps, reset and reinstall.

Hi,

I’m on public beta so tell me if this is the wrong thread but, noticed a couple of things and not sure if bugs or new expected behaviour.

Clicking aeroplane mode toggle in control centre now disables Bluetooth, and correct me if wrong but was pretty sure this stopped happening with iOS 11 which was honestly a godsend to be able to reset dodgy data connection without messing up headphones.

And also clicking on wallet in control centre no longer brings my primary card up ready for Touch ID but requires me to tap on it from the stack and then authorise.

Anyone else getting these?

(Edited a typo)

I have another issue where the sound for sending mail (swoosh for me) is selected (as it was after I did my OTA update), but it is not working. I find that this typically happens with betas; sounds kind of "reset" or screwed up somehow.

Anyone else? Not sure why, but I NEED that swoosh to tell me my mail was sent...

EDIT: Well...I guess I just answered my own question. While my phone still showed "swoosh" as the selected option, when going into the classic sounds, it is no longer an option. Kind of weird that it would show it, but it isn't an actual selection. Switched to "swish"...hah.

EDIT #2: Even weirder...."swoosh" isn't actually gone...just saw it as an option under "classic" in another menu...but it isn't an option under "sent mail" sounds...whatevs...

On iOS 11 it remembers your lasts preference re airplane and Bluetooth. That is, if you turn off Bluetooth when in airplane mode, it’ll turn it off next time you’re in airplane mode. Enable Bluetooth in airplane mode, and it’ ll leave it on next time too. Try it out, maybe that’s all that’s happening on iOS 12?

Weird bug on my iPhone X and tested with my brother’s iPhone 7 too (also on db2) - the app store at times doesn’t show updates and the only way to get the new updates for apps is by a restart of the phone.

I remember getting that in iOS 12 betas!

I’ve noticed weird behavior of the App Store but not that exactly. I see the download button showing for apps I’ve already installed but it goes away after a while.

I’ve also noticed more re springs and reboots and stuff in beta 2 but in general I’m between those issues it works well and performs well (and battery life is good too).

When you import a CD using the Apple Lossless Encoder and upload it to iCloud, you can’t play the songs on your phone. I just submitted a bug report, but it’s annoying.

Lol, I follow a band that relies heavily on physical media and FLAC downloads. No iTunes option for this one. If I had to choose, I’d do iTunes, but I’d much rather have a physical CD than a FLAC download that’s hard to keep track of that I may accidentally delete.

Well...thank you for reporting the bug...dozens of people will thank you later for it...

;)
