All,

Don't want to go through 28 pages of discussion.

I just installed Mohave Public Beta on my MacBook Pro and it's working GREAT!

How are you guys making out with the PB of iOS 12? I know one should not install a beta on their precious system, but if iOS 12 works, as well as Mojave, is working for me I am all in.

Should I install it or not?

As Broken Hope says WiFi Calling over iCloud is now supported by beta 2. I have macos Mojave beta 2 on my Mac and cannot activate Wifi Calling over icloud on it. Does anyone else have this issue? Or do they know of a fix?

Please stop spamming this question. You’ve asked it three times in 16 minutes on two forums.

I got reasonably close by dropping both brightness and contrast.

Really enjoying 12 so far. As people have mentioned, apps open much faster, I like being able to see the body of an email from its notification, I’ve finally figured out (almost) how to bring up App Switcher with one finger, Control Center is more convenient on my iPads. Books tends to eat my battery, though, and heats my iPad up.

How buggy is it? Would you recommend installing?

The main issue I am seeing with iOS 12 (Public Beta) currently is that it will not send iMessages from your phone number. Only sends via the email associated with your AppleID. This screws up the text message threads for everyone you previously texted using your phone number. It does not allow me to change it to use the phone number again. If you disable iMessage to send text messages instead it wont disable and instead continues to have the blue send button and gives the error "You must enable iMessage to send this". So that's super annoying to people I'm texting and I don't see this issue listed anywhere. I submitted a bug report to apple.

Otherwise loving iOS12 so far. The new customizable Animoji are actually allot of fun and I think will be pretty cool to use via facetime and/or iMessage once they are out for everyone in the official build (on supported devices).

Edit:
iPhone X 64GB on AT&T

Edit2:
As posted by a forum member furbzv1 the fix for this issue is here:

Definitely. Leaps and bounds above 11.4.

Make sure to do an achieve backup in iTunes, first. Read the OP list of bugs. I get being beta/tester. iOS 12 does feel nice, but I had to rollback/restore from my 11.4. GPS lock issues (no I shouldn't have to do a fresh install for fix), Call/cell/data not working sometimes (reboot), sending sms text in iMessage (reboot), WiFi calling and FaceTime. (iPX at&t). Been following this thread since dev release. Give it time and Good Luck. Bring on beta 3 ;)

Nope, I don't have that problem....it has to be carrier related.

Carplay broken with Beta 2. iPhone X on Verizon, aftermarket Pioneer AVQ-1330 head unit. When plugged it Carplay does not start, and the phone buzzes 4 times in quick succession, shows the battery screen, shows the notifications screen, and then repeats.

Reported to Apple. Hope it is fixed in Beta 3.

Has anyone noticed the interface changes to CarPlay with Beta 2? It doesn't let you have visual access to your entire library anymore. It filters by recently listened then when you reach the end of that list, it has a button for Siri to help you listen to other music. It's incredibly frustrating for me because I need to visually see the playlist/artist/song/album for me to remember what's in my 5500 song library. I understand it improves safety by limiting the user's time looking at a screen, but I feel like I'm more apt to just pick up my iPhone and scroll through my music there due to this change.

I understand your frustration, but this is a reasonable change.

Hmmm my VZW iPhone X with my OEM CarPlay unit in 2017 Honda Accord works just fine, I saw one graphical glitch but that's it.

I need to try it in my wife's Subaru, where I installed a Pioneer NEX head unit.

I have experienced that before in the past year on rental cars that have had CarPlay...not new....drove me nuts...

Ditto this. I saw this when I first used CarPlay in a Porsche loaner in 2017. IIRC, I was running iOS 11 beta at the time.

I tried PB 12.1 but my exchange server would not get mail, has this been fixed with 12.2? If so I don't mind spending the 100.00

CarPlay keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting while I’m on a call. It’s is annoying because I will suddenly lose the audio in the car and have to pickup my cellphone to continue the call. Then it reconnects the audio back to CarPlay. Anyone else seeing this behavior? I reported it to Apple.
