iOS 12 Beta 5 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I’ve just had my second respring while typing something in iMessages. Sent feedback. Luckily it’s not a frequent occurrence.

Mine just froze and then respringed when I tried to attach a photo to a message in iMessage.
This beta seems worse for me on 7 Plus than the previous one. Phone is warmer, battery life seems to be shorter. Duh.

I installed iOS 12 for the first time with this beta. It runs fast, and the battery life is good. I have 2 problems (reported to Apple): do not disturb activates itself automatically sometimes (randomly), and if Bluetooth is on but not connected to any device, I don't see the icon on the status bar; but if it's connected the icon is there. The do not disturb situation is not pleasant, I didn't miss any calls until now because probably I saw this pretty fast, but it may happen at any time.

Except these, a very solid beta version

I have a BT speaker that connects, but randomly upon reconnect the music sounds like it’s cracking up. It’s almost like it isn’t fully connected.

When I connect the speaker the very first time (new device), it’s fine. When I reconnect, randomly the connection is poor. It sounds like it isn’t fully connected. If I disconnect the speaker in iOS and reconnect, it’s fine again.

Trying to determine if this is the Amazon Music app conflict? Has happened on PB 3 and 4. Happening on my iPad 10.5. Reported.

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or something similar? Thanks.

Anyone in the UK use Santander Personal Banking app?

Not sure if this is an iOS 12 beta issue or an issue with their app but I can't seem to accept the T&C's so can't progress to the log in screen.

Having a strange issue where I take my phone off the charger in the morning and Notification Center is literally missing (no “No Older Notifications” or anything.) As soon as I restart the phone, all the previous nights’ notifications reappear in NC.

My post was in reference to iOS 12. I used the first three betas with the first two being a pleasure to use. Based on what I've read, the bugs have continued to pile up in each subsequent beta. Reading other people's experiences with iOS 12 in this thread will ultimately decide whether or not I choose to update my X from it's native shipping version.

How about you worry about yourself and not try to police members who have been here a hell of a lot longer than you? Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

I'm using both the UK banking app and the UK wallet app from Santander. All is working well. I have used my phone on all of the iOS 12 beta's and Santander has been good for me.

It’s the first time I’m trying to use the app and it list all the different T&C’s but there is no where to actually accept them from what I can see.

It's funny how different people with the same phone are having such different experiences. It must be a matter of what different apps each person has installed, that's the only wildcard.

For example for me Beta 5 has been an absolute dream, I haven't experienced a single respring and no issues with imessage *knocks on wood*. And all of my issues that made Beta 4 and absolute nightmare have been fixed (unresponsive screen with brightness down, Apps not updating, podcasts not downloading, netflix not downloading, etc...)

I almost want to stay on beta 5 and not move until release since its been so great (although I dont think you could do that, I seem to remember betas expire or something)

To me this beta is the best so far. Very fast, very good battery life, not many bugs.

I'm having no issues on this beta either but I'm using an iPhone 7, not an X. Battery life is superb as well.

I'm there with ya. beta 5 has been great, iPhone X. Only encountered one respring, but I wasn't in iMessages, I believe. Woke the phone up and mysteriously had to enter in passcode to activate FaceID. (figured respring)
I've been using Gboard Keyboard. Not sure, if something with stock keyboard is causing resprings for people, is the cause. Obvious it's an issue/bug.

Crazy theory on those having the issue with the respring within iMessage .. I had my font moved up from where it is on factory settings and had resprings daily .. reset setting and kept it at the original font and after two days zero resprings.. lucky?? maybe but it worked for me .. just food for thought for those struggling with this issue ...Cheers

Yes I'm having issues with the airpods on this beta, double tap was not working and earbud removal was not stopping the music, reboot did not solve the issue, had to factory reset the airpods to solve the issues I had with them. But strange things happens when using them with an Apple Watch on Watch OS 4.

Hm, I will give this a shot. There have been text size related messages bugs before, so I can definitely see this being the issue.

I deleted my AirPods and repaired them... and no issues at all.

I noticed the double tap didn't work and just went into the bluetooth settings and noticed it defaulted back to siri for both sides. Just re-programmed them and they work fine now.

I’ve always had this problem, whether or not on beta. AirPods settings and syncing are a little buggy; I usually just delete and repair from scratch when I have issues with them.

I'm not sure on that one. I've been using it a while but i'm on a 6S+ but didn't have any issues with it that I recall, sorry.

Hm, I will give this a shot. There have been text size related messages bugs before, so I can definitely see this being the issue.

hmmmmm, I'll give that a shot too. I do have font/text sized moved up, as well.

This has happened to me a few times today. There doesn't seem to be any pattern that causes it. Just freezes the phone then resprings.
