Bc most people hold it in landscape.

So therefore ...split multitasking doesn’t need to work in portrait? If the keyboard doesn’t work properly in portrait is that a bug, or is it ok because most people hold it in landscape?

I won’t even start to list them but there are so many scenarios where split multitasking would be much more useful with the iPad in portrait if properly implemented with a top/bottom split.

It’s absolutely poor UI design, whether we call it a bug or just a glaring mistake is irrelevant.

Universal Clipboard has not been working on my devices since the iOS 12 beta. Has anyone else been experiencing this?

I've tried logging out and back in to iCloud, rebooting the devices, disabling and re-enabling Handoff but nothing works.

I'm using an iPhone X and an iPad Pro 10.5 both connected to the same wifi network with bluetooth enabled.

It should be working but it isn't. I've already submitted a bug report to Apple but I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

You might be right. It is currently not working between my IPP and 8+. Or rMB either.... :(

Does anyone else have an issue on iPhone X where when you close out an app, there’s a brief flicker up by the clock on the home screen in the upper left? It’s like a split second. Not a huge deal but kind of annoying.

Works for me. You need to have handoff turned on. Bluetooth and wifi should be on too.

Does anybody know if in new beta they fixed “zen weather” and “zen stocks” apps?

Anyone has issues with Tunein radio on CarPlay? Am I missing something?

I just can’t seem to load anything with on CarPlay.

Tunein works fine out of CarPlay, both on cellular and wifi.

Thanks in advance.

I wonder if Battery consumption is double counting.
I have an entry for Safari and entries for some of the sites I spend some time on in Safari.

Example:
Safari
and sites I visit via Safari like DeviantArt, StoriesOnLine, Tumblr, Pinterest, CNN, etc...
I do not have the apps for these installed.

IPP 12.9 G2 - iOS 12.0

My dialer froze over the weekend twice on my 5s. I had to reboot to get it working again.

On my iPhone 7 Plus running 16A366, there are brief flickers all over the OS.

when listening to music through my airpods there are now skips in the songs. anyone else have this problem? i have been on iOS 12 since release and never had this problem till this morning.

I see Apple haven’t fixed their Safari text selection bugs in even iOS 12!! It’s actually worse now! How many years is this going to continue [EDIT: these bugs have been present in various forms since iOS 7!!]?? Don’t Apple employees ever edit text on websites??

[EDIT: text editing; not webpage content selection, which has always sucked too but not as bad as editing text]

Also, activating 3D Touch trackpad mode is even more inconsistent. It’s like you have to remind it that it’s a feature before it triggers semi-reliably for a little while.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned..... but now you can skip forward in podcasts on devices/car controls, it also will work with AirPods.

Has anyone been able to get not on this iPhone to work on ios12? It works on my iPad for music and apps, and on my iPhone for apps, but not music.

I cannot possibly be the ONLY one with these ongoing text edit problems in iOS Safari. Where are everyone else’s complaints?

The buggy behavior of iOS 12 with regard to text edit boxes on websites is pushing my impotent rage (because I’ve reported it repeatedly to Apple and they’ve done nothing) to the extent where I’m actually feeling the impulse to smash my iPhone. iOS 12 is faster and I’m glad, but the text edit field behaviors are actually MORE obstructive. Before it was just autocorrect and selection visuals that broke. Now it’s page scrolling and paragraph selection when trying to drag a selection handle or use 3D Touch.

Today it is Safari’s behavior on Facebook that’s pissing me off. Seriously? Apple haven’t tested text edit box behavior on Facebook? The currently most trafficked website? Seriously? No, I won’t download and use Facebook’s app.

I’ve had to resort to using the Notes app instead of editing text in text edit views on webpages for a while now. That’s called a workaround for broken functionality. What the hell is with Apple’s utter refusal to fix these endless issues? It hasn’t gotten better IN YEARS; it’s merely been differently broken at various times.
[doublepost=1537993343][/doublepost]Is it just me, or have apps and updates gotten suddenly larger? Is there a ton of new assets required by the new iPhones just released? Why is DropBox a 240+ MB update?

CMD-TAB task switching is broken in iOS 12. My list of apps is everything I’ve run recently, not all the ones that are still active. It has run out of spaces for new apps and now I cannot CMD-TAB to an app I have running.

WHY DOESN’T APPLE DO TESTING?? For crying out loud, I find this stuff within hours and I’m not paid for this effort!

EDIT: AAAARRRGH! This is an iOS 11 BETA BUG!!! I skipped iOS 11 entirely but now I get to “enjoy” iOS 11 bugs in iOS 12!

EDIT 2: Shutting down and restarting my iPad Pro does NOT clear the task switching list!

Not sure what I'm missing, but how does one "CMD-TAB" in iOS?

By using Apple’s SmartKeyboard. Clearly they didn’t bother testing this use case. Again.

EDIT: Which I find rather bothersome, especially since Apple and Tim Cook have promoted iPad Pro as a laptop replacement. Using my iPad Pro 12.9” as a laptop replacement is why I RELY on CMD-TAB functionality. I’m currently being irritated by this very bug as I sit here reviewing someone’s writing and chatting with them about it.

EDIT 2: Quite frankly, it utterly ruins half the value of having a SmartKeyboard and doing multitasking. This is already problematic when keyboard shortcuts spontaneously don’t work at all (like in Safari when I have to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard to get them working again). Back when I was a Windows user, I stopped customizing Windows because I realized Microsoft doesn’t test anything but the defaults. Well, Apple QA is guilty of this now, and that includes not testing use cases involving their OWN accessories they promote as enhancing the value of the base product.

Unrelated to the topic above:

[doublepost=1538000692][/doublepost]Background image animation causes weird artifacts not seen in iOS 10. I have a fairly sharp detailed image in place on my home screen and switching to the home screen creates an odd moire(?) effect as it goes from somewhat zoomed to normal (the animation of switching back to the home screen). It goes away, and is only visible during the animation, but it’s distracting and clearly wasn’t there in iOS 10.

You can on IPP 10.5 and 12.9 with Smart Keyboard. But don’t think you can on the phone or if no keyboard.

It works fine for me on my IPP 10.5.
