If they will fix Facetime they will release 12.1.4 instead.
Anyone that had a device that supported Group FaceTime could have been, technically speaking, but at this point with Group FaceTime disabled while an actual fix is being worked on, no one should be exposed to it.has anyone actually been affected by the bug?
So today a new beta for iOS 12.2 and tomorrow iOS 12.1.4 for FACETIME fix?
The fact that Group FaceTime is disabled negates the issue for the time being. I suspect 12.1.4 will drop a day before 12.2 beta 2.They’ll likely be released the same day. Apple can’t afford to let this go any longer than necessary. I would expect a staggered release though. Will be interesting, as I’m not sure Apple has done 2 different releases on the same day before. But they also have not had many issues of this magnitude, either.
Good point. However, that does mean a critical feature remains unavailable for some key users. The fact that Group FaceTime is disabled negates the issue for the time being. I suspect 12.1.4 will drop a day before 12.2 beta 2.

I think they're going to try to get this done in one day if they possibly can. Might mean a 1 pm EST and a 6pm EST release for 12.1.4 and 12.2 b2 respectively.Yes and no. Folks may be forced to use other applications for group chat/video versus Apple's solution. If Apple waits too long on the fix, folks may just stick to the other solutions.
Group FaceTime hasn’t been a thing for 7 years since the release of FaceTime. Saying that people will find and stick to another solution if they don’t fix it right away is nothing more than an exaggeration.Yes and no. nothing today about the facetime bug being fixed. 9to5mac has not reported anything yet. must still be working on it. i would think later in the week falls into the wed-friday timeframe.
9to5 don’t always report software releases.
