Hate getting excited about the beta release date and then remembering I need to wait a bit longer for the public :p

Unfortunately not. This section has been available to everyone since the first beta. These are the Siri suggested shortcuts based on your activity. The ability to construct your own sits within the invite only standalone app

I actually don't know. We might get one more 2 week cycle as we are a week a head of last year.

Beta 5 of iOS 11 was released Aug. 7, beta 6 was Aug. 14, beta 7 was Aug. 21.

We’re a week ahead cos they fudged beta 2 last year and had to release another version the following week.

If there’s a conscious and planned decision to shift from 14 days to 7 days I think it’d be based on the beta number rather than date.

But I guess it’s equally as possible that beta 5 would have been 2 weeks instead of 1 week if they didn’t mess up beta 2. No? Obviously we can’t prove it either way but food for thought.
