If you've ever been using beta versions of iOS, then "other" can grow relatively large as it fills with diagnostics info. Syncing to iTunes/Finder clears those down. Basically, if a sync takes a long time then that's a good sign that you'll have a much smaller "other" afterwards.
I have restored with iTunes without backup. But I still have this huge size.

Anyone else having touch issues. Laggy to scroll and sometimes tap to wake doesn’t respond. On 11 pro and only noticed since this update. Hard reset generally fixes issues.

The "other" has been a mystery for me . And yes, i have seen space being used in that order or even more ~30GB

Basically my understanding based on my usage is that its the cache area of IOS which it uses to optimize performance but more importantly its automatically shrunk by IOS when space needs to be freed for user space.

It is a lot of space to let go (feels like that to me but may not be in effect) esp. on 64 gb or lesser HDD iphone.

One thing that has always worked for me in purging this space is signing out from icloud and sign in again. That seems to shrink it.

I think that it's diagnostic information. I noticed this yesterday and that Copying Diagnostic Information took a huge amount of time in iTunes sync and that the "other" storage use went to zero after iTunes sync.

I'm really missing ios 12 now. This 13 has some nice features, I really like dark mode, but i'm having issues I've never experienced in a year of having the xs max. The biggest problem is my issues are all completely random and can't be replicated.
My phone completely froze, wouldn't turn off or even go dark. Had to soft reset using the vol up/down/power combo.

It rang and I couldn't slide to answer. It went to voice mail and wouldn't let me check the voice, had to restart the phone.

Randomly doesn't adjust volume, or it shows my volume bar changing but the actual change in volume lags.

Maps is occasionally very slow to figure out where I am so I'll start driving in the indicated direction and it suddenly tells me to do a u turn.

Like I said, this is 100% ios13 related and has never happened before.

I've only had minor glitches with iOS 13 and find that the benefits far outweigh the minor problems. I've had no problems with Apple Maps finding my location on my iPad Mini 5. Comes up in under a second. I'm installing Apple Maps on my 7+ to test it out. I normally just use Google Maps and that works fine. I have not have had issues with calls or texts.

Have you considered a full backup, clean install and restore?

Sounds like a bad install and migration of your data. As the above poster mentioned, I would certainly restore your phone thru iTunes, then setup as new (don’t restore iTunes or iCloud backup).

Is there any way around 'the email issue'?

I deleted the email that it keeps opening up to, and I get an error now. It's fixated on that one email message, or at least where it was. Also editing text in emails, etc, is way too difficult. I end up trying to touch the spot where I need to edit, and half the time end up just retyping the word(s) out of frustration with trying to get the cursor to the spot I can make the change.

Yeah, there are 'good things' with this version, but there are a lot of really maddening things that shouldn't have happened. I mean, the question 'Does Apple do ANY testing' really needs to be asked, and if they claim they do, who in the ducking heck is doing the testing? Do they actually USE the release before okaying it.

Just venting, thanks...

But really, 'the email issue' is really getting to me...

It's caches, logs, and temp files.

Running an iCloud backup will generally clear this out. As will an iTunes backup.

Is anyone having problems with Apple Pay? Since iOS 13.1 when i double press the side button and it recognizes my face and i hold the phone near the terminal, the payment doesn't want to come through and the terminal gives an error. The weird thing is that the iPhone thinks the payment went through and when it first happened i thought that it may be because of the terminal or anything but it's happening in different stores, restaurants and so on with different terminals. Also it's not happening all the time but maybe like 4/10.
Before iOS 13.1 i had maybe like 1 or 2 problems with Apple Pay so i guess it has to be something with this and 13.1.1 version of iOS.
I have had zero problems with ApplePay since the first betas of 13. Now on 13.1.1 and still having zero issues and I use ApplePay daily.

You just need to long press on the space bar to control the cursor placement.

Or now you can also touch the cursor itself and drag it where you want it.

It works very badly on my XS max. Most of the times I end up selecting the full word instead of just moving the cursor. Worst ever IOS release since 11, that’s it.
I submitted this as a bug in the beta. I could not for the life of me get the cursor where I wanted it. Don't know how this is a better solution.

It fixed my blinking photos when viewing in the photos app and hdr photos that I took. That’s good.

I've been waiting to install iOS 13. How serious are the Mail issues I've seen people mention? Does today's update seem to have fixed those issues? Thanks.

The issue that i have been experincing since ios 13.1 and now with 13.1.1 is about location services. Although all system services are turned off, something is continously using location data and little arrow appears on status bar, which i believe effecting my iPhone 11 Pro Max's battery life as well.

...yea, I'm also getting the same exact issue?!

Since iOS 13, I am constantly seeing this icon in the status bar:

Its ALWAYS there and has only been ALWAYS there since iO13 (and I'm actually using iOS 13.1.1).

I checked in the Location services under Privacy, and figured out it was the native Weather app causing this :

When I turn this off, and I check the weather app on my Apple Watch, I get a notification asking me if I want to allow the Weather app to use my Location. Even when selecting the 'Whilst Using app' option, the icon seems to stay in the status bar of the phone?!

This never happened before - is this a bug in iOS13?

If all your data is backed up to icloud follow these steps:

Reset all settings and erase cotnents through General>Reset menu.
Make a fresh start
Log in to your apple id
Restore your last icloud backup

This seems to be solved my problem. It has been more than 10-12 hours that i dont see location arrow apperaing on status bar without any reason.

I know this is unrelated, but can I get a link for the wallpaper? It looks amazing.
