It (the iPhone SE - just to be clear) was disconnected from the charger at 1511 PST (USA) or 2311Z on Tuesday Dec 10th.
Not sure if that’s sarcasm but I just thought it would be interesting for people with an SE (I don’t have it anymore) to know how many hours it lasted with the charge. But after checking the dates, I see it has been several days without a charge, so no need to go into detail. In the first read I thought you unplugged it today so knowing what time it was when you had that 17% could have been interesting, but not so much if we’re counting it by days. But having had it for 5 days unplugged is impressive, probably because it is on WiFi only.

Unless battery is degraded, that's a pretty short standby time for an iPad. I used to get 3-4 weeks standby time on the iPad 4 on iOS 6.

Of course, iPads are much lighter (smaller battery) and more powerful now. I think 1% per hour is on the high side, though. I've been getting higher than expected battery drain as well. Disabled Screen Time and Background App Refresh (don't want or need those features anyway) and it seems to be behaving better (7-10 days standby).

*sigh* One of the reasons I like having iPads with non-X chips.
I wish I could try turning that off but I have two kids with iPads that I use it for. I wish it were an option. I have background app refresh mostly turned off except for a handful of things. When I turn it off comp,Evelyn there’s no change.

My standby battery drain issues continued after a DFU restore and then restore from backup on my 11” iPad Pro, so I have now DFU restored and NOT restored anything from backup. Everything is manually installed from scratch. So far so good, but it’s early.

I don't know this, but I think that performing a DFU restore and then restoring from a backup might not be the best thing to do, since to my mind, restoring from a backup could possibly just "restore" the state of the device before a DFU restore, in many aspects.

Every few months I go for a DFU restore and install from scratch. Last I did was sometime in July, and I have done one just yesterday with 13.3. I do this since I am almost always on a beta, so when a release comes out that demonstrates notable changes and improvements in speed or otherwise, I go for a full restore to wipe out remnants from previous betas.

I’ve tried it once with and once without a restore from backup. This morning I did a DFU without restoring later from backup and just set everything up from scratch. I even deleted my backup beforehand so there would be no way for me to accidentally use it.

Hope you see improvement in your experience. As you said, so far so good. The way I see it is that if at all I am spending time reinstalling fresh, I better go full monty and install everything from scratch instead of restoring from any backup. Now with all the cloud syncing going on, the important stuff gets restored anyway, such as messages, browser bookmarks, chats, photos, etc. :)

Ipad OS 13, Issues with WIFI, 5ghz download is good and shows upload is good too; but having issues uploading to youtube I have 25mbps up but for some reason it keeps saying 2-8 days until i swap to 2.4ghz which goes from 2-8 days to 4 minutes to upload.

I know its beta; but I also am getting random freezes, anyone know when next patch comes because this latest patch 13.3 is becoming really awful every patch update

Which build are you on? 13.3 was released as build 17C54. Would you also see if it just shows 2-8 days but gets done soon or is it taking long?

It was taking long but it was taking a long time. I did a full shutoff reset and it kept doing it until i powered off again where my Ipad wasn’t turning on for a good 2 minutes then a purple flash and start up began. Now It seems to work fully. I haven’t had a poweroff since latest beta update 13.3 (17C54) but for some reason there is no beta 4 or 5 I was on beta but now it looks like i am in official or something.

Last night it only went down 5% in about 7 hours, so maybe things will calm down over the next couple days after the fresh install.

It’s definitely become much less of a big deal now that iCloud is so integrated into everything. There are two things that consume a lot of my time when I do a fresh install of iOS without a restore from backup on my iPad Pro: re-downloading all my games (Civ VI and all its expansions takes especially long), and putting all my video apps back on. I like to have all the separate network apps installed and logged into my Hulu account.

After playing for a weekend, running a lot of the same apps and trying during the other times to use these devices as I normally would, I have the following observations that bother me (on 13.3 PR):
Note: These are my observations and no scientific instrument was harmed in the exercise.

12.9 IPP G2 - not seeing any real change between the beta and the PR. I use this device primarily for watching TV, reading, Netflix, and Youtube. It does appear to burn through the battery a bit faster.

11 IPP - Battery usage has seriously degraded compared to 13.2.3. Video seems to be the biggest issue. Use a Logitech SK. Even if the SK is turned off, the screen keyboard in the device will frequently not appear. Sometimes BT on/off will fix, other times a reboot is needed.

XS Max - Speed. It seriously sucks. The same app on all devices, the XS Max is left in the dust. Or mud. Wifi has become an issue. The device will randomly stop transmitting or receiving data. Swapping in / out of airplane fixes the issue till the next time.

Across all devices:
Mail - problems still continue to plague this OS for both iOS and iPadOS
RAM - Problems have come back. Not as bad as before, but the last fix has been undone.
Safari - in the IPP, not the XS Max, I am finding that some links will not work once I have been on the page for a while. A reload of the page fixes the issue until you have been ... on it for a while.
Settings > Passwords & Accounts: I have found that several entries are no longer there.
Messages: I forward messages from my XS Max to both iPads. The iPads do not always get all messages and the discrepancy is frequently different between the IPPs.

I may have to restore my XS Max.
More to come.

Interesting - I'm not seeing the speed or WiFi issues on my XS Max on 13.3. My points of comparative reference are 2018 12.9 Pro and 10.5 Pro on 13.3.

My battery issues on 11” iPad Pro started with (I believe) 13.2.2 or maybe even 13.2.1. It’s not the screen on battery drainage I’m having issues with—it’s mostly with standby drain. It’s like the iPad is taking extra long to truly go to sleep or something. If my fresh DFU install of 13.3 that I did yesterday doesn’t help I’m just going to live with it. I don’t know what else to try at this point. I’ve reported it to Apple on their feedback page.

I have the same phone but I'm not seeing anything like that.. everything is running good for me but battery isn't that great

What’s strange is that mine is running great now and that little hiccup randomly stopped happening over the weekend.

Thank you for sharing your experience but, man, now I have doubts about updating (from 13.1.3) again 😔

I thought 13.3 was almost flawless and people was pretty happy with a much better battery life. I’ll wait to see if others have similar experiences before updating.

One bug from previous iOS versions is back for me. When I’m closing an app from the app switcher it always comes back and isn’t closed. Sometimes I don’t understand what the hell Apple is doing this year.

anyone else having issues with bluetooth and Ford Sync now? before I updated my phone would normally connect and play stuff, now everytime I connect my iPhone Ford Sync just shows "bluetooth media disconnected."

i tried forgetting Sync on my iPhone, resetting Ford Sync, and re-pairing but neither fixed it :(

BREAKING NEWS!!

this is fixed in 13.3.1 dev beta 1

My biggest issue is still app reloading....I’m convinced that the top selling feature of next iPhone would be 6gb ram

They touted heavily reduced app sizes. There shouldn't be these RAM issues just yet. But that's how we are made to advance. 🤷‍♂️

Ok so I’ve noticed the app reloading bug but for me it seems to start happening after a few days and after I have updated some apps.

I play Pokémon go daily for an hour or so and that app is a huge ram hog. It seems to only happen after I update the Pokémon go app and use the app for awhile then I start to notice other apps start reloading in the background. But once I notice this I do a full shutdown and then turn the phone back on and the ram management is back to perfectly fine behavior until I update my Pokémon go app again. I’m thinking after updating some apps there must be a memory leak. And the only way to get things cleared out and back to normal is to reboot. So like today I’ve gone about my daily business and played some Pokémon go and my phone has been fine. It’s keeping like 6-10 other apps frozen in the background like it should including Pokémon go. Not sure exactly what’s going on but I think I’ll just keep rebooting my phone once a week to keep things smooth. Should probably do it anyways. Alsways seems to speed it up a bit.

Until I saw your post I had not really looked at the standby drain as I put it on charge each night and during the day as required. Will check that out this weekend.

I can launch Heckfire, Netflix, Spectrum TV, MS Word, Today Weather, etc ... and there is a very noticeable difference from launch till use point between the XS Max and the IPP (either model I have). Once in the app, most features seem the same.

I think it heavily depends on how you use it that colors what you see and consider an impact.
not seeing much new in the way of bugs with 13.3 PR however I am not seeing much in the way of fixes (for me) either. :(

It’s annoying how the stock apps are broken. Not only Mail. App Store is very slow. Keyboard sucks. I have problems now with Reminders too. I have two weekly reminders with the same name on different days. When I’m getting the reminder of one one day it disappears when I’m marking at as done for one day. It gets marked for the next time (months) too. And all apps are reloading again. I thought they have fixed the RAM issue.

I think all new versions (iOS, macOS) are made by people who NEVER worked in that business. I’ve never had such an worse experience with Apple devices. Seriously never
