iPhone (11) and iPad (mini, fifth-gen) both continue to run well on the new beta; battery life and performance feel solid especially after backing up, after performing restarts as needed as well as after turning off Screen Time (which I had been using only to disable Siri functionality, but which I also had come to theorize was impacting performance and battery life more than just leaving Screen Time off along with all basic Siri functionality).

Yesterday I did experience some strange/frustrating connectivity issues with both wifi and cellular connections, but as of right now I’m happy to report that those appear to be resolved with time and good, old-fashioned restarts.
I had the same like on my XS Max where I had to toggle Airplane to get cellular data back. Hope it was a one off like you said because this is the first time it happened on my PM.

Ideally, the phone's screen should turn off when CarPlay is active. Mine usually does. It may be a bug if the screen doesn’t time out.

Relatedly, I wish the Apple Watch would not provide directions when Maps is active on CarPlay. Even if you swap to something else, it comes back.

Tested this morning with phone and CarPlay in active routing mode. Phone eventually faded and screen turned off. It did seem a little longer than the 1 minute I have it set to, but it did go off...maybe 2 or 3 minutes?

I’ll time it on my next drive.

In the Sonos App the volume up and down buttons both are turning the volume down.
Outside of the app everything is working normal. Anyone else problems with apps that react to volume buttons?

iOS 13.4 b1 iPhone X

Normal 1 minute shut off for me

IPP 12.9 G2
So far better than 13.3.1 ...
Only real new issue I am seeing is battery. This iPad is burning through it pretty quick. Much quicker than previous.
One strange item, I was using the IPP for SPectrum TV, Netflix and Safari (this site) and closed the ASK. Several hours later I opened and saw the battery was at 26%. A serious drop from when I closed it it (63%?). The only issue I noticed was an entry called Safari Audio. No clue what that was from.

Question MR long time users ...
Does this site auto format our entries?
Take a look at the SS - the spacing between the last two sentences. One is pre-Save. One is post-Save.

Is anyone else having an issue with the device asking for the passcode instead of FaceID outside a restart or the time without using the passcode thing? Might have started with 13.3 somewhere? I know it hasn't been happening the whole time I've had the PM.

I've also noticed that if you start directions via CarPlay, my watch doesn't show/buzz directions. But if I start directions, then plug into CarPlay, watch doesn't stop showing/buzzing.

iPad Pro 11.

I took out my iPad from my backpack after a couple hours of not using it. Found it quite hot and with 40% of the battery gone. It‘s the third time it has done it since updating to 13.4b1.

However, today was the first time the iPad got unresponsive and I had to VolUp, VolDn and Power to reboot it.

Have had some concerning issues with overheating while playing a non-intensive game and (ironically) submitting that bug report. Otherwise, this has been great so far.

Apologies if this has been noted, but I didn’t find anything on this thread with a search. Under iOS/iPadOS 13.4b1 and macOS 10.15.4b1, My homepod has stopped being the primary response device in my apartment when i holler, “Hey Siri.” If my phone has the screen facing upright, the phone will respond. If the phone is down, it tries the iPad Pro. If that’s covered up, and the macbook pro is closed, only then will Siri trigger on my homepod. Doesn’t matter what the command is. “Hey Siri, play some music” more often than not plays on my phone rather than the homepod. Anyone else experiencing this?

Sorry to bother you again, but is someone here witch’s Sonos system and can try?

Yep same here. I assume that either when HomePod 13.4 is released or it’s actually a bug that’s fixed in iOS 13.4, it will work as normal again.

I just tried this and same experience. iPad in hand, iPhone 10 feet away and behind me and HomePod 7 feet away in the opposite direction. I said “Hey Siri, what’s the temperature?” And it was the phone that responded. This may be tied to the new feature in 13.4 allowing iPhone Siri to respond even if turned over, etc...

Reported.

Something’s wrong with notifications. They’re often out of place (showing partly over the clock) or hidden behind one another.

This will hopefully be fixed in the next beta, or further ahead if they are working on something more around it.

I'm having an issue where Safari and other apps won't switch between screen orientations. Safari for example is stuck in the portrait orientation even when the device (an iPhone 8) is turned horizontally. The orientation lock is turned off. A reboot would probably fix it. I reported it to Apple anyway.

Isn’t there a different time out for when it knows you’re paying attention to it? Maybe knowing it’s connection with CarPlay, the time out is longer?
