Yeah. While it’s way too early to tell, initial reaction on my end is that they’ve somehow made the Mail app even *worse*

Also, something is different about the icon placement at the bottom of the Mail app. Trash has moved to the far left and it looks like maybe they added an icon? Can’t remember what it looked like prior to this...

trash icon to the far left is throwing me off

It’s the bottom portion of any email in any email folder. I have a Gmail and an Exchange account.

I don’t know if it matters, but I’m only checking iCloud, 13.3.1.

is it something you absolutely need , or just something you test for each new version to see if it’s still broken?

I think he must need it, since it obviously bothers him. I would need it too. When people select images, it is entirely possible they want to send them in the order they selected the images, or instead, have an option to rearrange the order prior to sending. Minor in the larger picture, but a valid issue nonetheless.

They definitely moved the trash button to the left, which sucks since I am righty and use to quickly press the delete button while using the phone one handed.... They added the flag button as well, it used to be inside the sub menu with the little forward/reply arrow

Confirmed they’ve changed it to include the folder and flag icons.

First photo is on my iPhone X running 13.3.1.

Second is my 11 Pro Max running 13.4.

I would’nt even have noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out. The change seems to be across all mailboxes (Exchange, Gmail and iCloud).

Is that folder icon a Move option or only Archive?

here’s what that same shelf looks like in iOS 13.3.1

Wow, that was how it was on iOS 12! I really wanted them to revert the icon placement, I can't believe they actually did it :)

It’s a weird new interface.

Tapping on the flag icon once allows you to flag in different colors.

Tapping on it again is where things get confusing (see image). You still need to tap the unflagg icon - I suspect most users will tap on ‘Unflag’ thinking its a button, but it isn’t.

This is very poor UI design.

I'm not complaining, at least not yet. Personally, I thought the bottom looked empty with only two icons.

Though I'd have preferred to have the Next/Previous Message buttons down there, lol.
Actually I they would have planned it in the 13.1 itself, but then forgot about it in their rush for new emojis :D:D

I actually liked the quick right-hand access to reply and delete - I find the delete icon on the far left very cumbersome.

Control Centre now shows the battery status and cellular / WiFi connection on phones with home buttons. I’m pretty sure the X style phones have had this but this is the first time I’ve seen it on a home button phone. Maybe it’s a sign that the home button phones will get gesture control similar to how older iPads did?

But this also means they have actually looked at the mail app. but obviously couldnt improve it out of habit.
