1) Is smart zoom (double tap) in Safari completely restored like on iOS 12 and previous versions? Or the behavior is still inaccurate?

2) How’s battery life and RAM management? Hopefully the same or better.

They could implement tagging photos in iOS like on macOS Photos app, but I guess that should be an iOS 14 feature.

Weird, anyone have Sonos? Can you check if in the Sonos app when using hardware controls... the volume up on iPhone 11 Pro Max actually reduces the volume not increases it.

the volume down is ok, just seems volume up and down do the same thing.

checked the iPhone music app and it is fine there.... just happens in Sonos

This used to happen with Mail in earlier iOS 13 betas, but was eventually fixed. Now it appears to be back:

When tapping an email notification to enter the Mail app, then tap the Trash icon delete said email, the app no longer brings you back to the proper mailbox. Instead, it sits on this gray screen:

That's not new behavior from my experience. It was hit and miss before but more than a few times it would leave me stuck on that screen instead of returning to the main mail page showing all emails.

Oh snap. This is huge:

CarKey API

There appears to be a new API in iOS 13.4 called CarKey that is designed to allow the iPhone and the Apple Watch to unlock, lock, and start a compatible car, according to 9to5Mac.

Users will be able to use CarKey in vehicles that have NFC capabilities, with the iPhone or Apple Watch unlocking the car when held nearby. Authentication via Face ID will not be required, and the initial pairing process will be done through the Wallet app.

CarKey can be shared with other people, like family members, with drivers able to invite them through the Wallet app to have access to the key on their Apple devices. Based on signs in the code, Apple is working with some car manufacturers to implement the feature in the iOS 13.4 update.

Be aware that Citrix Secure Mail crashes to springboard when opening. So don't install this on a device where you depend on this app for corporate email!

trash icon to the far left is throwing me off
It’s by design and intended to fix all the complaints of having trash right next to reply in previous iOS 13 releases.

They’ve definitely done something to the Mail app - search is now lightning fast, even for Gmail. Message previews, even for emails from more than a decade ago are loading very quickly.

Emails in general are loading faster, with full content and trails.

Have tried replying to a few emails with large attachments and that seems to be fixed as well.

I usually don’t fall for placebos, so I think this could be the real deal!
Agree - Mail is noticeably faster and deleting is certainly an improvement. It would pause for a second and the screen would flash (due to the animation) - this is fixed.

And is Safari Snappy^Snappiness

LOL yea it would have been all over for the 8GB iPhones.
Safari feels like a spring chicken! I enabled all of the new experimental features and its delightful!

Maybe app problem but Luna app VPN is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting.

I don’t get why they don’t just make those pretty basic ones x.x.x releases. Back in the day a x.x would offer exciting new stuff. In fact I remember in the early iPod Touch days, you actually had to pay for those updates?

With the return of iCloud shared folders and the introduction of new CarPlay APIs, this is not a “basic” release. And the reason they had to charge for iPod touch updates was related to accounting, not the significance of the release.

Not updating to beta for the first time. Kinda burned up with all the testing so far. I will keep an eye on all beta threads though. But kudos to everyone here. You guys are doing god’s work!

I’m with you, but I’m still tempted. You’d think that by the time you get to a .4 release, there’s be better stability. And I’ll be traveling, so it’d be great to test. But also, I’d be traveling running a beta build :/

After disabling Screen Time on and restarting both devices this beta feels very smooth and stable on both my iPhone 11 and iPad mini 5.
