...If Apple developed an app themselves...I'd be more inclined to trust it. But they aren't...so I don't.

I was hoping that they'd update their own app to support this API. There is a section on the main page of the app for your state. Seems like their own official app would be a great place to start using this.

Using iOS 13.5 a huge fix I’ve found, if I airplay to my pioneer amp over AirPlay 2
It’s now smooth and volume changes without a delay before I had a huge delay

Totally agreed there. I'd happily opt-in in a heartbeat if that were to be the case. I would consider it a missed opportunity, but who knows...maybe they're working on it.

When the app first came out, our CEO sent us all an email about it basically just to say "this was released. Check it out if you're interested, you might find it helpful". I didn't hesitate to download that one. I figured since I was treating these people at the time, it would be worth my while to have pretty much all the info I could have at hand. Now that I'm back in my normal department...I've still kept it on my phone for reference. I especially appreciate the update they brought to it in regards to mental and physical health tips and contacts. My wife has PTSD and this whole situation has kind of sent her backwards. Even though the information in there could be considered "common knowledge" it's still good to have on hand, especially because my state hasn't exactly done the best at helping people with those issues. They seem to have been overlooked.

Totally normal values. I currently see 6.48 GB System and 5.21 GB other on my iPhone 11.
Never changed much throughout all iOS 13 Versions.

Correct. If you read the fine print (Health, COVID-19 tracking) you need to install a special app which supports notification first.

It appears that the app opening stuttering is pretty much gone. Many users reported this in 13.4.1

Right. And that special app will only be one per country coming from an official health institution.
The COVID-19 tracing API has never been intended to be an „usual“ api for every developer to use. It is strictly limited to health authorities.

Bet you not.
California already wants their own written by their State Health Authority (CDPH).

I doubt they will use tracing API then. There are already some COVID-19 apps here in Germany (like from the Robert-Koch Institut), but none of them is using the Apple/Google tracing API. One per country, that’s what I read about that API on various sources.

The latest from our Governor was actually talking about just that. Using the Android/iOS API functionality with their own developed app.

have to wait and see I guess ...

Took a look and found North Dakota already is ...
*snip*
That placed North Dakota's location-based service in a bind. Now, after lengthy discussions with Apple and Google, North Dakota will release two coronavirus tracing apps—one using location tracking, one using Bluetooth—in a move that is designed to give citizens a choice but could end up splitting the overall effort.

UPDATE - a couple more jumped on the bandwagon - State level apps
Alabama, North Dakota and South Carolina are the first states to publicly comment about using Apple and Google’s contact tracing technology in statewide apps meant to slow the spread of coronavirus.

I’m about 7gb and 5gb other on both iPad Pro and iPhone 11 pro.. never seems to change too much and has always been around that value. Who knows how accurate the “other” even is.

FaceID thing aside and COVID tracking, how has 13.5 been as a release bugs wise, performance wise, and battery life wise?

What are your devices ?

I am using the GM (shouldn’t make a difference but noting it) and battery was awful when I turned background app refresh back on. Turning it off calmed down the drain so either some apps need updated or this isn’t that great on battery. I had BAR on for only the apps I needed so will see if the drain is the same.

Fantastic for me so far. Buttery smooth, fast, no stuttering. Doesn’t heat up. Battery life seems better. No noticeable bugs for me

So stupid. We need to have one app for everyone that feeds into a central database. IMHO the app and Bluetooth should be mandatory. Of course this only works if people actually self identify as infected. Sharing your GPS location information should be optional. It’s collected by your phone, regardless — unless you make an effort to disable it.

If states really want to have special features or capabilities, there should be some sort of opt-in feature to signup/sign-in/self-identify for state level features within one common app.
