Haven’t had that yet, it does at times have the widgets disappear when I go into a folder, but figured it’s just a beta 1 issue...
Ah thanks. Probably just an issue on the smaller screen then. I’m a little surprised that Apple gave the mini the newer home screen layout. Pretty densely packed when you have the widgets on there.

It looks like now with the intelligent battery charging when the smart case is on the phone battery doesn’t go over 80%. Had it in the case since morning when both were 100%.

Anyone running iOS13 and 10.15 Catalina? How does the handoff between Phone and Mac work so far? Calls answerable on either with no glitches? 10.14.6 with iOS 12 was a bit iffy.

I see people on twitter saying Apple is finally bringing whimsy and delight back to iOS. Hmm...I seem to remember parallax and physics engine in iOS 7. I remember the weather app showing animations for rain/snow. I remember dynamic wallpapers. I also remember people complaining about animations and if something was one ms slower than a prior version of iOS it was the worst thing ever. But yet now having a bell animate when mute switch is turned off is this amazing thing? Please.

Has anyone found since installing iOS 13 that they are not getting App Updates thru the App Store ? I don't think I've had any updates for a few days - whereas, I normally get a few a day..
go to your picture logo in the app store and pull to refresh

Is anyone else missing their lock screen controls for the camera and flashlight? Bug or legit gone?
they are available in my IpXS

How did you get it done I’ve been trying for the longest

I think they are referring to the new animations, along with some little tweaks (silent mode on/off comes to mind) that makes iOS a little bit more fun to use. For me, Android always felt robotic, while iOS always felt a little more fun. Haha not sure I'd refer to it as whimsy and delight though.

You're right. That was the only thing they changed in iOS 13.

Ok, everyone! Pack it up and shut down the thread. Nothing to see here!

With the new (soft) keyboard, can anybody see if a split-mode is back on iPP 11/12.9? I saw that one-handed mode so wondered (rather hopefully) if the full split mode made it back. The removal of that option on these large iPads is one of the single most debilitating changes for me.

Now if we just get the split keyboard on the iPad Pro 11!

The removal of split option on these big iPads is dumbfounding to me. I actually get sore hands and wrists having to hold 12.9 all weird and stretch my thumbs at the giant keyboard jammed at the bottom.

Providing an additional update after using a few more things yesterday.

CarPlay
  • Navigation DOES appear in the Overview Screen, and quite nicely too. – screen shot included.
  • I still really like having the Calendar widget, nice little reminder of what meetings i have on my way to the office.
  • I do agree, I wish the “widgets” were customizable. I think id prefer weather over the top favorites for nav widget.
  • Message notifications now appear from the bottom of the screen instead of the top. Subtle change.

Apps.
  • All of my 3rd party and native apps are still going strong. No issues with Notes, or other apps varios folks have stated.
  • As stated in my last update – Mail is a hot mess. I had to go to using the Outlook app for my work email.
  • No issues using things like Apple Pay or sending money to people.
  • FaceID is still incredibly fast, even when used by apps.

Random Notes.
  • Most of yesterday something was randomly using my location nearly all day. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what after flipping location on/off in every app in privacy. It has now stopped. It didn’t seem to have a impact on battery life either. I seem to recall experiencing something like this with iOS 12.0 beta’s too.
  • On battery life - its actually been really good. I had a random steep drop off between 85% and 75% but then it normalized again. By 10pm I was still around 50ish%
  • Funny random note on this – I installed iOS 13 previously on an old spare iPhone 7+ we have before my XS MAX, and weirdly enough its been sitting on my desk on – on Wi-Fi only (no sim card in) and its only down to like 85% battery.. so apparently standby is on steroids now. Though I think the lack of cellular is contributing massively to that, cause LTE is known to just suck batteries down like apple juice!
  • 1 weird thing I did run in to this morning is my screen randomly stopped auto locking (my setting is 30 seconds) quick reboot seemed to have fixed it. I may just commit to rebooting every night just to clear up anything it may try to bug out.
  • I have not experienced any further issues with my S4 Cellular Apple Watch. Everything is rather par for the course there for me.
  • OOO and i think i recall seeing somewhere that wireless charging was not working. Mine seems to be doing just fine. My iOttie stand hasn't had an issue yet.
  • Also the new Bluetooth controls in privacy are nice. I have a Withings Sleep pad, and in IOS 12 i had to actually open the app for the Pad to sync, now with IOS 13 i granted the Health Mate app permission, and when i open the app.. its already synced over 95% of the time.. subtle but really nice change.

Is there a split-screen view on CarPlay when you're in the Music app or does it still take up the entire screen with tons of black space?

Lol I thought these were names of some ui framework api‘s or something like that

Split with what?

Screen only splits when Maps is in use as far as I have seen. Or, you can choose to have full screen view as it is today.

You can see the music app in his screenshot; maps left half and right half has directions, music and calendar app top to bottom.

I was hoping there was an option to have the music display on one half while having the map/navigation display on the other side. It's one thing I've always disliked about maps in CarPlay.

Quick question that I didn’t think was worth of its own thread (I’ve tried searching the forum and Googling but haven’t found a definitive answer anywhere) -

So say I’ve got dark mode turned on, and it has that gorgeous dark keyboard. If I go into an app that isn’t optimised for dark mode, am I still getting the dark keyboard?

I'm having this little bug happen, and wondering if others are. My folders go from dark mode black, to light mode white when I click on them. And some of the folders are white and the rest are black, so there's no continuity to how the folders look right now. Anyone else having this bug?
