I don't think a rant was necessary. People don't have the time to read through 30 pages of posts. I think sometimes members of this forum forget that. I get it -- people don't like answering the same questions over and over again -- but easily can just not answer at all and let someone else with more patience do it.

Nothing against @gwhizkids. I understand the motivation. It's just that there is always going to be someone like me coming here who just don't have the time to backtrack in posts. This is the normality of forums.
Yes, and that is the reason I link his post to anyone who keeps asking “is the beta suitable for me” as there is really no formal “yes” or “no” answer until the beta is installed and used on said device.
I think that post alone is enough to cover other 652 posts and the message is clear enough. :p:D

Completely understood.

I installed the Beta despite the few warnings out there. In the past, I have installed Beta 1 and 2s around this time of year on my iPhone. Most of them were almost immediately deleted and I had to reformat the phone.

This time around I am having very good results with the beta on my iPhone XS Max. Other than a call dropping, the OS has been very stable on my phone. I particularly wanted to try it for CarPlay and it did not disappoint. CarPlay was the best working aspect of this beta. Absolutely love the improvements.

The one big bug I notice is that I can't instant message anyone who does not own an iPhone. Communication to Android users has been all met with NON DELIVERED. Not sure if that is a common issue or not.

EDIT: The Instant Messaging issue is not related to just Android. Having problems getting some messages out to friends with iPhones as well. Looking forward to the fix.

I see what you're saying but I don't think gwhizkids post was a "rant" at all.

The "daily driver" question can't be answered by anyone because it is, in essence, a question of risk. Even on the same devices, on the same version, and with the same installation methods we see some people complain of frequent resprings, no incoming calls and other issues but other people with no such problems. Adding to that, even if someone can say the current beta works for them there is absolutely no guarantee that the next beta won't be a complete disaster for some critical functionality.

The only correct answer - and this is the one that gwhizkids gave - is that you as an individual must do your own research, assess the risk to your own use case and make a decision from there. There is no definitive answer and, as far as I'm concerned, gwhizkids reply is the reference reply.

tl;dr If you have to ask, the answer is no

do you have any news about the possibile release of an updated Lightroom app that finally can access to the SD card through usb type c adapter ?

Beta 2 ran pretty well on my mini 5, but I must admit I’d like to be given the choice of larger / smaller icons on the home screen.

It’s not that I don’t appreciate the smaller icons in that you can fit more on a screen, it’s that I don’t actually fill an entire screen with icons.

Each of my screens has a “theme” if you will. Now it looks like there is an awful waste of space.

So far WhatsApp has a few more bugs we didn’t see.

No manage option in storage. To allow you to delete certain types of files from conversations. And the count is also not there, showing 0 for everything.

Any convo that has the manage option is broken. Doesn’t select the items right.

Lastly. Is WhatsApp taking up a lot of space for y’all? Mostly double of what the “backup size” should be?

Also restoring from iCloud has a lot of bugs.

Hey guys, iPad OS has been very good for me so far. The mouse support is better than what I thought would be. However, one annoying thing is that every time I open a new app, the mouse cursor goes back in the center. Anything I can do to fix that? Thanks.

Hey there,
anyone had the same update message some days ago? Stayed like that for 5 minutes and then went back to normal (after reboot).
Maybe a sign that we get beta 3 in the next couple days, but not sure!

There is ALWSYS a chance, but it’s highly unlikely. I expect dev preview 3 to be released alongside the first public beta (actually expect PB to follow DP3 by a day or two) ... do not expecting anything until Next week - July 1 or 2.

Interesting.. You think right before the holiday. Which we in the US thank our UK friends for :)

I’ve noticed that sometimes the speaker volume gets stuck as what it was when connected to Bluetooth devices. I learned that the hard way when I accidentally played something at full volume through my speaker, lol.

Siri volume was getting stuck for me on beta 1. Happening less on beta 2. A restart usually fixed it but only for a short while.

My iPad Pro 10.5 has been buggy with the Smart Keyboard. Every time I attach my Smart Keyboard, it gets stuck in a black screen. I have to remove it so it could respring.
I did the reset all settings, works for a couple of hours and then same issue. Does it happen to anyone? Hopfully fixed in beta 3.

Anyone having a issue with iCloud Drive not working or syncing? It seems like it’s affecting apps that use it to back up like WhatsApp. Any solution?

I think anything that is linked or uses iCloud right now is buggy. My iCloud mail, iMessages etc are buggy
