Sorry guys for being too lazy to scroll through the whole thread but is the latest beta suitable as a daily driver?
PS. I got iCloud and exchange e-mail accounts.

Gotta admire your honesty! I shall reward you with my thoughts, FWIW!

Its suitability as a daily driver for you depends on your tolerance level for minor stuff: weird text rendering in Tapatalk, the inability to open new tabs in the new way in Safari,etc... and some more major stuff: calls getting directed straight to voicemail instead of ringing, etc...

If you go over the last 50-75 posts in this thread (5-10 minutes of your time max), you'll get the flavor of these problems and some others. Well worth your time in doing, as there may be things identified that are minor for many but deal-killers for you.

How can Mail be so bad? Has anyone been able to fix via a restore or otherwise? Any suggestions is appreciated. Everything else is smooth.

I had to delete the mail app and then redownload it. My mail accounts got deactivated in the process so I just went into settings and reactivated them all and now mail seems to be working for me. Before the uninstall/reinstall I couldn't get mail at all.

Tried taking portrait pics in halide and in focos and am getting errors saving the picture. Anyone have an error taking portait pics in 3rd party apps?

Dunno if it’s a bug or not but super annoying. If you’re in a text thread, previously, if a new text came in, the text sound wouldn’t blare since you’re in the thread, now every new message dings even if your in the thread.

After updating to beta 4 I completely deleted the mail app... rebooted my phone and re-installed it.... So far everything has been work smoothly and back to normal *knock on wood*

tapping the first couple messages notifications on the lockscreen does nothing. you have to either tap the 3rd one or swipe to open.

Yes, after every beta release. Still not fixed.
I get the issue, but in the grand scheme of things, probably well down Apple's priority list for fixes.

We would all like our particular concerns to be addressed ASAP, and in an ideal world, with infinite resources, they would be. But...

I use iCloud email and I logged out on both my iPhone X and iPad Air 2 and logged back in and fixed all the issues I was having. I did this on beta 3 and it’s been working perfectly since.

Charging fully overnight and indexing i guess solved my problem. Speaking generally it is the most stable ios13 version on my xs max so far.

Ok is stopped working again What is it? A joke?

Recently (I think it's new for Catalina / iOS13) the Feedback app has improved. it's now possible to close requests and also update them.

So instead of creating a new one for the same issue each beta, I update it with something like "Still exists in DB4". I do notice that the "other reports: none" is a bit iffy. There's no way I'm the only person reporting certain issues!

I don’t know if this is a known feature for iOS 13 but it’s new to me and really really wanted for a long time.

You can now delete custom ring tones, text tones and alarm tones directly from your phone by swiping left on the tone.

For me, who have tons of custom ring tones, this is awesome since I wanted to delete them and still use my installed backup. I tried deleting them using iTunes before but it was impossible. Now they’re gone!

Sorry if this was a known new feature.

Encountered new issue with safari on this beta. When holding down a link to open, it no longer gives you the option to open in another tab.

In addition to the two finger tap, you can also open in new tab by dragging the preview link (Hold down on the link to get the little preview of linked page) to the safari tab bar - it will create a new tab.

changing the song on the lockscreen does not reset screen autolock timer, the screen will dim while you are skipping tracks.

Someone said here that it’s possible to look if one feedback is in work from Apple. How was it’s possible?
That was me. Go to your submitted feedbacks. Tap on one and you'll see that they list "Recent Similar Reports" (which seems to be one of the following: "none", "less than 10" or "More than 10") and Resolution (where they list what's going on ("Open", "Potential Fix Identified - For a future OS update" and "Investigation Complete - Unable to Diagnose with Current Information" are among the possible range of responses).

Hope that helps!

But I have received response in some cases stating that it has been fixed and that I should test in the latest beta, yet the resolution shown remains as "Open".
Can you help understand it.

Also do you think that the "less than 10" or "more than 10" has any impact on the likely implementation of a fix.

I'm not really sure how Apple decides to close something out. They may keep it open pending the next beta to make sure. That sounds like the case with yours.

I'm also guessing that larger numbers of reports is one factor in moving something up the priority scale, along with the severity of the issue. So, more is probably "better" in this regard.

My problems with Mail are minuscule compared to others. It seems a slow in fetching new mail and it got stuck with a 1 in the red bubble, which I hate. A hard restart got rid of the bubble. This was just in my Mini 5, not my Xr or IIP.

I tried, but the mail app won't download again. Just hangs.
Did that for me also. Eventually I gave up, was about to download Outlook, but all of a sudden there was the Mail app, downloaded to my phone.....
Unfortunately it still did not fix the issues.... Threaded emails messed up, error when syncing iCloud email, slow (shows "Connecting....") for at least 20 seconds, and sometimes have to force close the Mail app than restart to get it to sync fully.
Maybe I should just use the Outlook app for now :)
