I am u

I am using latest air 3 2019 too
But no issue in safari
On latest beta build
What issue are yu having ?
Safari is freezing. RAM is full. When I’m going to home screen and back to safari i only see a blank screen. Still frozen. When I’m using safari on different webpages I see the half of the page and the rest is white. I have to zoom in our out to see the rest of the page.

Those on the previous Beta with an Apple Watch will know about the terrible battery drain when used with a Watch on WatchOS 5.3.

I am now on this beta iOS 13 DB6/PB5 with WatchOS 5.3 and the battery life is the best I’ve ever had (based on a single charge cycle to date admittedly)

My iPhone XR lasted 2 days and 2 hours and my Watch Series 4 an incredible 2 days and 12 hours to reach 3% (with usage of 4hrs 53mins).

Charged them both today and hoping for more of the same.

Grrr......
Well I hope today is better.
Installed PB5 and my AW4 on 5.3 battery went back to normal. For a day.
I am now seeing a steady drain :(

Charged back to 100 and we will see what happens today. Keeping fingers crossed.

It’s iOS 13. You’ll never again see good battery life as long as you keep it updated imo. Best to go back to iOS 12 if possible.

This is the 2nd time this has happened with this latest beta. I have an XSMax with an Apple Battery Case. Battery optimization is on (default). Everything was charging overnight. I wake up, and both the case and phone are super low on charge.

Have to say after installing PB 5 on my iPhone X , my battery drain on my series 4 on 5.3 seemed to go. Noticed I’d got my missing 40% back that had gone AWOL for a while.

Unfortunately I think the battery drain on the watch is back. About 18:00 yesterday phone vibrated & to my amazement I was on 20% battery life. Now I’d used my watch no more than what I’d previously used pre beta 4 etc.

Latest iOS 13 betas are certainly crippling my series 4 at the moment. Here’s hoping for better watch battery life with hopefully another iOS beta this week.

Cheers

For me, I had to look at background activity. Turns outs NPR one was gobbling up my battery in the background, behaving like it was playing even though it wasn’t. Even caused my phone to get hot. Definitely check for apps in background.

If you had just updated your phone and noticed this within the first 24-48 hours, then it was equally likely to have been caused by indexing.

example of npr one eating my battery while I slept. (Yeah, I went to bed very late) I deleted npr one and all my battery issues and heat problems disappeared. I really miss that app though.
”Recently Deleted apps” was NPR one

NPR One is also running down my battery, during the daytime even after I’ve used the task switcher to shut it down, and overnight.

My XS Max is running warm on this beta. I hadn’t suspected NPR One until reading your comment here. I love the app but I’ll be deleting it after posting this comment. I’ll wait at least until the next beta comes out to reinstall.

XS Max PB5 and AW4 5.3. Seeing exactly the same. Great for a day. Back to the drain again :(

Glad I was able to help someone. My phone has been behaving normally since removing NPR One. I hope this is the case for you too.

Can you set that app not to allow it to run in the background?
I could have and probably should have tried that. Perhaps I will re-download and try, but I know the app itself has some other annoying bugs, particularly with CarPlay and it randomly playing on its own. I may just wait for the devs to release an updated app.

Horrible battery life on my iPhone 8 with the last 2 betas.
You might have thought of this already but just in case: In battery settings, see what apps have been using the most battery, and whether any apps that you haven’t been using are actually running in the background.

For me this beta is absolutely horrible in every way.

- Constant Resprings
- Low Battery Life
- Ugly Balck Folders
- Apple Watch still draining
- Multiple small bugs and issues

i feel like the last beta was much better in every way. I hope they will be able to polish this before public release because the way it is right now it nowhere near ready for prime time.

My Mail App is also completely screwed up now.
I don’t even know where to start

  • Doesn’t load the content of emails
  • Notification badge number doesn’t match the actual amount of unread messages
  • Deleted messages appear again after I restart the App
  • Inbox says „No Emails“
  • Random black empty spaces in my email list

Same here on a Xs. Woke up this morning, unplugged (phone in the smart case) and only later to see my phone was at 23% while the case was showing 100%. More than this the phone was stuck at 23%. Did a restart and now seems to work as designed. There must be a bug or something here.

With the change to PB5 and I took the step to unload, delete, readd app, readd email accounts, I thought my stock email app woes were pretty much behind me. Sigh ...

1. I now have blank blacked or whited out sections in some emails.
2. After not touching it (the email app) for 12 hours, the app badge says 16 unread emails. Open the app and it says 16 also. 30 seconds later it is now saying 67 unread emails. Appears that in the 12 hours, the system only queried the main email account, none of the other 4. Until I opened it.

Trade in one set of bugs for a different set of bugs. Concerning that an uninstall and reinstall of the email app fixed then uncovered new bugs.

Have to see what the next PB brings. Crossing fingers.

ps: trying a couple of things with my AW4 on 5.3 - battery issue seems to come and go.
