It's useful for me because when my wife is working, we typically text before I turn in for the night (she works second shift). If I'm in bed reading and happen to be awake past my bedtime, it'd be nice to be able to check for texts without having to unlock and look for a badge on my Messages app.

Well true, but it would still show notifications as normal (without having to unlock), so while I like the separation, it’s kinda redundant.

It was placebo effect. Mail now doesn't fetch emails. I have to manually open the mail app for emails to show up. I checked settings and it's set to fetch every 30 minutes. Shocking that on of the most important apps in the iOS is so botched at this point of betas. I know there are other apps, but I like to keep my phone with native apps.

Seeing the similar behavior here. Mail accounts are set to push rather than fetch. But I’m also having to open the mail app to get new emails to download. After opening the app, it seems that push works properly again for an hour or two and then stops until I open the app.

It’s definitely worrying that the app is this bugged this late in the beta process. We have seen from experience (iOS 7.0, 8.0, 11.0) that Apple won’t let large bugs stop it from releasing a new iOS version when new hardware ships. I fear we may be headed in that direction again with iOS 13.

Well 7.0 and 8.0 were dumpster fires. 11.0 was a tad better imo at release. Except for Mail, 13.0 seems like a fine update and we're not at the end of beta testing either so there is that too. Anyways I'm loving iOS 13 betas since beta 4 :)

Hmm... something weird going on with my iPhone 7... I'm on public beta, and checking a half hour ago said it had requested Public Beta 7... never could get it. Rebooted. Now it is saying there is simply: iOS13.0 available, 10x MB

Perhaps just a security fix to the recently exposed issues?

Oh I completely agree that this is nowhere near the disasters that 7.0 and 8.0 were. To this day, I am astonished that Apple actually allowed 7.0 to be released for the iPad. It was so buggy. My point was that these Mail issues are pretty significant and that Apple won’t let a significant bug stop the software from being released “on time”. A few people here have speculated that Apple will delay iOS 13 and ship the new iPhones with a variant of iOS 12. That almost certainly won’t happen. If the mail app can’t be fixed by the release date of the new iPhones, they will ship with a buggy mail app and Apple will fix it with a 13.1 update down the road. Not a great look for Apple, but they’ve done it before several times.

I'm going to go ahead and be "that" person, is anybody using this on their main phone? This is working very well on my iPad and I'm considering putting it on my Max.

What seems to be kind of concerning when it comes to privacy and security is how I can still see emails of an inbox that isn’t even active in „All“ after 8 betas

Yes, I’ve been testing iOS 13 on my main device since the first dev beta and these later builds have been more than solid enough in my personal experience.

Shortcuts app is gone. I tried to download it from the App Store and I get this. I have a max xs.

Weird thing is that I’ve been lately having this same issue on 12.4 as well.

I’m using the beta since PB6 on my Max with no issues at all. All smooth and very fast. Only small issues with Mail that seems to be resolved in latest beta.

works fine for me. Battery life so far much improved even over last beta which was ok. I would usually be around 30% by now I am at 48% right now.

I doubt anyone here would be crazy enough to put this beta on their main phone.

Awww...who am I kidding. We ALL have done that!

(You should be ok, but as you will no doubt () have read in this thread, some users’ experiences with the Mail and Files app has been less than optimal.)

I didn't jump in until DB6, but this release is very solid...seems close to the GM...but there will be at least 1 (and maybe 2) more update(s) before 9/10.

I have been using on my 6s plus since 13 beta 2. It’s gotten a lot better, Mail is gradually improving but if you need rock solid Mail or Messages on your main phone I’d say hold off...
