If you see “iPadOS” naming as anything other than a marketing gimmick, it’s not me that doesn’t understand what they are doing. You just REALLY don’t understand what they are doing, do you?

This is my battery life on Beta 8 for my main usage on my phone.
Do you think it’s okay?
Thank you.
XS Max here, works for me too but I'm hesitant in calling this a bug, the animation when swiping up is quite slow and apps don't launch until it is 100% complete. Technically ,you don't have to click on the app twice, you just need to wait a second or so until the animation is fully over. It's not limited to the leftmost app in the top row either.
EDIT: On an unrelated note, I found a bug that triggers my OCD on the iPad Pro 11, latest beta: in portrait mode when swiping left very slowly to reveal the widgets you can see the blur animation is glitchy, as if it's blurring a lower-res version of the home screen. Can't unsee it.
On iPhone XR works well too.No, it only works on iPhone XS and XS Max.
You just had flashlight on for 5 hours?
Yes, I have to. I work and live in a pretty dark area. I couldn’t find any benchmarks with torch on all the time.

I'd say your battery is doing well with the LED flash on for 5 hours. That's a pretty big battery consumer given the lumens it puts out.Yes, I have to. I work and live in a pretty dark area. I couldn’t find any benchmarks with torch on all the time.
Yikes!Cheers. I don’t know what the hell is going on with mine. But I’ve now lost a years worth of health/activity data after setting my phone up from new. Still with the same email and calendar problems. Meanwhile the iPad running the same beta and checking the same accounts is absolutely fine. I’m now restoring my phone again but it seems to be taking hours. I’m losing the will to live with this load of crap.
I agree, I don’t find any issues with it, still trying to remind myself even whilst typing this that it exists, I love it personally. What's wrong with it?
I just tested this on my iPhone XS, worked fine.Anyone else having an issue using "Hey Siri" to send a text when the phone is locked? XS Max here on Beta 8 but have had the issue for the last few Betas. When the phone is locked and you say "Hey Siri, text such and such", she says you'll need to unlock your phone first and then it still only takes you to the messaging screen. You still need to type in or use voice text to send the text.

With a broken mail app lol
Anyone else having sync issues with outlook.com accounts (both email and calendar)? They just time out and error on my Xs max but fine on IPP. I’ve removed accounts and now fully reset my phone and set up from new but still the same problem. My exchange account is fine.
If you've got email problems, have you done a fresh install or have you been upgrading in place across the beta releases? I'm aware upgrading in place is a legitimate way of installing, just trying to narrow down what's going on.
I've done one fresh install in b4 and have been updating via IPSW file for the rest of the beta releases. I've also deleted the Mail app and re-installed it for every other beta release. If you've got email problems, have you done a fresh install or have you been upgrading in place across the beta releases? I took Outlook stuff off of my XS Max. My work Exchange account is pretty much fine. Usually.
I've always used the stock Mail app, but due to these issues I installed Outlook an hour ago and set up my IMAP account.
An email has just arrived. Outlook notified me on my phone. A second later, my laptop (which can use IMAP IDLE so should get mails pretty much immediately) notified me. Apple's stock Mail app on my phone? Nothing yet. I'm going to time it. And then see whether the notification badge actually shows up on the icon.
I'm not sure I can stick with Outlook though as it doesn't seem to handle multiple "send from" addresses, which Apple's Mail can. I own a domain and often send emails from, for example: x@domain.com, y@domain.com etc and Mail smartly works out which address was used for the received email and automatically picks it for the reply (assuming the address is added in settings). Outlook doesn't support this as far as I can tell. Shame. I also don't want to use their calendar but it seems baked in.
Edit: Apple Mail notification came through. As it doesn't support IDLE and it's configured to fetch every 15 minutes, it's to be expected that it won't come immediately. Plus point to Outlook here. And on unlocking my phone ... badge on Outlook, nothing on Apple Mail. I deleted the main from Apple Mail and opened Outlook mail 10 seconds later, and it deleted it there. Apple Mail needs a refresh to work out what's going on if I delete an email from another app or device. Another plus to Outlook.
I don't use any google mail stuff, so it seems things work the other way around for me. I can create aliases in the stock Mail app but not in Outlook. We should lock Apple and MS email development teams in a room and not let them out until they release an app we're all happy with. That is my issue with the stock Mail app for Gmail accounts, it doesnt do aliases (without a workaround of doing a generic IMAP account which raises other issues)t
I am not experiencing the email issues that others are reporting...
Really? I've always wondered about this. When my battery is critical it won't let me turn on the flashlight or take a picture with flash and yet I can edit 4K video in iMovie on iOS in the same battery state. Never understood that. Especially considering LEDs (I thought) consumed very low energy.I'd say your battery is doing well with the LED flash on for 5 hours. That's a pretty big battery consumer given the lumens it puts out.
I'm imagining you wearing a miner's helmet with an iPhone mounted in the front where the normal torch/flashlight would be. LOL!
