Anyone running the GM of iOS 13 have phantom notification sounds? Mine seems to do so at least 4-5 times a day since installing.

Been using it for the last two days on my daily driver XS, no issues whatsoever. I was worried about mail problems but have not experienced any as of yet.

On the flip side, I absolutely hate the fact that most apps have not implemented dark mode yet, as the effect is glaring when moving from app that does to app that doesn’t - I am keeping dark mode off for now.

Like most of the UI tweaks. Hate the depreciation of 3D Touch pressure sensitivity. Everything feels very fast and fluid.

Overall, a great update.

Did you try edit RAW photos in Photos app?

After wiping my phone and installing 13 GM fresh, I setup as new. Logged into iCloud and that was all. iCloud messages, iCloud photo library, all my contacts, etc pulled in like it should. However, when you go into messages, tap the contact picture/name at the top of a message and then tap the I INFO button, you should get a few sections called FILES, PHOTOS, LINKS. Those sections are not there. Initially during the setup of the phone while everything was downloading, it stated there were XXX number of photos in iCloud. and a link to Download. That has gone away for all contacts/messages.

I helped another person update their phone to 13 GM like you normally would. Same results.

Does it just take a really long time or is there something wrong? It's starting to aggravate me. Anyone have any suggestions?

I’ve never edited a photo in my life, and don’t even know what RAW means... so you can guess what my answer to that is. :D

Ah ha! Another one! Glad I’m not the only one. I went back to 12.4.1 because of this issue. When going into messages and you click on search and scroll to the bottom was there also a message saying that more suggestions will be there after messages finishes indexing? Mine never finished indexing and the photos and attachments never came back. Had to downgrade. Also my phone was heating up like crazy with minimal use.

Mime still has the indexing message when I do a search. I know it’s not a backup issue as I started fresh. I’ve been troubleshooting this issue literally for 24 hours. I have another test iPhone that I’m going to take from 13 GM to 13 B3 and see if these features come back. If they do, it will confirm my suspicions that either there is A: a bug in the GM/Final release, B: removed and will be added in 13.1, or C: taking a very long time to recreate/index.

Here’s what I’ve found.

It seems to be a bug? A rather LARGE bug. I am wondering how many people it affects.

iOS 13 B3 does the same thing as 13 GM. Any messages your currently have or load (restore from iCloud messages), it doesn’t show the files. Same applies from restoring from a backup.

Now here’s the interesting part. Any NEW files, pictures or links you send, show up just fine. Just previously sent items do not. This is not how it worked previously which tells me something is broken.

It works fine for me, I can see old and new files

Yeah used iCloud messages on a DFU restore and not data restore whatsoever, setup as new

So you put your phone into DFU and restored it or just restored it via iTunes using the GM seed?

I restored using the GM seed and setup as new, signed into iCloud and the rest is history. I don’t have attachments. I’ve tried so many different variants.

DFU restore to the GM IPSW, setup as new iCloud messages enabled.

Wanted to update you and everyone else on this. My issue has been resolved. All attachments are back!

It appears indexing takes FOREVER if you have a lot of messages or a large history (my guess). My indexing took no joke, 20 hours. Start to finish. The notice is now gone when I search and all attachments are available.

Holy hell!

Wow that’s insane! I’m still nervous to re update. I might wait till 13.1 or 13.2 just to be safe. It just isn’t as polished and it was weird that my phone was heating up so much with light use.

I have probably over 1000 attachments between messages. Maybe it just takes that long then.

I have over 5,000 or more attachments between two message conversations. One goes back to 2013.

Another thing I learned, attachments show as Live Photo’s, have the icon - but when you tap them, are not live. They are live in the message thread. This is not how it was in 12.4.1. I am looking at it on another phone. All gifs are also moving when viewing attachments. On 13, when viewing attachments, all photos are stills, tapping gifs will show them moving.

Again, this is contrary to how it worked in 12.4.1. I’ve verified it’s not just me. Confirmed on 4 other friends phones running 13 GM and 13 B3. I’m not sure if it’s intentional or not. It defeats the purpose of having quick access to the photos if you can’t save the original. I experienced this “bug” during the beta and reported it multiple times. Seems Apple didn’t care?
