im never installing a beta again and apple has made it so hard to update to the gm on windows, i had to download a different software cuz the smart people at apple didnt release a new version of itunes
Finally that’s was a big error in their part
Probably not an error. Since you are supposed to be a developer to even be able to access the IPSW in the first place. iOS 13 is not released yet so not really supposed to be easy. :) (Although it is easy for iOS developers or others in the know) Just sayin.

If not an error, it was certainly a disappointment to those Tech savvy Public Beta testers like myself.

I submitted many bug reports and feature suggestions during the Beta process and was frustrated to have to use a third party app to install the IPSW due to this update coming late.

Poor planning on Apple’s behalf.

Glad it’s easier for others now though.

EDIT: Now that iTunes has been updated, I’d be grateful if someone could confirm whether it will then complete an Encrypted Backup from iOS 13 GM to a Windows 10 PC.

I hear ya, but there is a public beta still available for iOS PB testers who want to continue testing beta software that is apparently a better build anyway. The 13.0 GM is intended for devs only not for PB testers. So there was not really any poor planning on Apples part in that regard. Not being argumentative just stating how it is. This was not a mistake or poor planning as being mentioned in other posts. Simply a let down for those PB testers who want the release software earlier. (no more testing required for 13.0 from PB but there is still a need for 13.1) In your case, you didn't have to install the IPSW and I am sure Apple would appreciate you continuing to file bug reports on their next release that is still in need of testing.

It was unprecedented when Apple forked the Beta into iOS 13.1 (Like some others, I believe to avoid the uncertainty around tariffs at the time by shipping more iPhones stateside).

That’s a commercial decision.

From that point I chose to not go into the 13.1 Beta feeling that I’d done my bit assisting with what had begun as the iOS 13 Beta.

Since I upgraded via a party 3rd app to the iOS 13 GM, I understand Apple have now released a new version of iTunes that would’ve allowed me to update.

I just wish they’d released that update straight after the keynote.

So, how is smart invert in the GM build? I only have iPads for testing device so I don’t want to install this on my main phone until the atrocious smart invert bugs are fixed in 13.

I’m just curious how long the indexing takes.... my photos app still says “leave device locked and connected to power” after a full nights sleep and the progress bar is only about a 1/5th loaded.

messages app also has a message that more things will be available after indexing is finished. Maybe after tonight it will be done?

I had to bite the bullet and go back to 13.1 beta due to email, even though I use another app as well it just bothered. I hope Apple releases a beta update for the new phones on launch day, assuming I can get one. Besides mail, 13 GM was running great, no other issues at all for me. So somehow I think they have a stable build depending on how widespread the email issue is.

Hi,

I have checked Settings -> Camera, but there isn’t an option to enable Night Mode. Am I missing something? I have the Xs Max on iOS 13 GM.

Thanks

How are we one year in and a full iOS update later and cellular signal bars still don’t work through CarPlay or Bluetooth on the Xs and Xs Max...ugh!

What are the issues you experience with mail? The only thing I encountered so far is that some messages give me the “contains no data” message , but they display fine in outlook.

Still nowhere near as good as it used to be and completely disabled for Apple News.

Why they couldn’t have just left it as it was in iOS 13 DB6/PB5, I’ll never know as it was perfect in that Beta.

One of my Feedback App suggestions was asking that they do just that.

No joy though.

So its just like the current iOS 13.1 b3...It must be a bug or something because smart invert doesn't work properly in all third party apps as well and in Safari, it shows the white keyboard instead of the dark one when smart invert is activated.

Do you plan to keep iOS 13? For me, I'll have no choice to stick with iOS 12 for now. I'm relying too much on smart invert to mess it all up. Thanks for your reply, appreciated!

. . .
Do you plan to keep iOS 13? . . .

Despite my frustrations / disappointment with both this and Dark Mode, I always have my main devices on the latest iOS for security reasons.

It’s one of the main reasons I stay with Apple, the frequency and duration (several years) of updates.

Can I somehow install a Feedback app on the GM build of iOS? I just received an email from Apple that they require more info on my report. Duh

Was able update to GM but the three-finger bug (when touching the screen with 3 fingers the edit option appears) is still there.

So far, 24 hours later, the GM build been great for me, except, the update didn't resolve my bug with the Notes app that takes 1,4GB on my iPhone. We tried to disable iCloud, delete and download it back, still the same issue. The actual size of the Note's data is 0.5Kb.
Waiting for the next build to perform a clean install of iOS 13.
