Based upon recent trends in IOS I'm expecting a new feature where launching Settings will occasionally cause your phone to catch fire. This will only work on the yet-to-be-announced $2000 iPhone.

Owners of older iPhones will still have the same great experience of random hangs when opening Settings.

Never mind. Not worth a "time out". Post deleted.

We're 10 days away from Beta 1! Almost there, guys! I'll be enabling dark mode on day 1 (if its available in Beta 1).

I’m not saying you’ll do this but I do wonder how many people will do this and then switch back, saying “Oh, it’s not that great after all!”

Not me. My iPhone is currently jailbroken, and I keep it on dark mode with Eclipse. Lol. I only use my jailbreak for dark mode and to block ads.

Either give me a keyboard that does not force me to switch every time I need punctuation, or if I pick a 3rd party keyboard, use it ALL the time. I really don't give a crap if Apple thinks 3rd party keyboards are not safe for password entries.

Hmmm (from the App Stores “Today” tab) (yes, I realize it’s the apps’ own dark modes they are referring to, but notice the capitalization of Dark Mode). Also, the Books app itself now switches to dark mode in low light, not just the books themselves.

It’s coming.

I just hope that battery life on iOS 13 without Dark Mode is at least 5-10% better than on iOS 12 even if it means a slight speed compromise. And I hope that 10% becomes 40%+ with Dark Mode on OLED. :)

Can confirm IOS 13 will not support the iPhone SE. Work for a large corp who distributed SE's to everyone last year and are now doing a panic rollout of iPhone 8s due to "lack of future software support".

Which company is this? How can they know in advance?
I would imagine since they have a corporate agreement which probably includes some sort of support, they are warned in advance.

All speculation but would make sense.

They gave us the XR so we’re all good :D

I am skeptical about this. Apple doesn’t tell anyone about product plans. Moreover, it’s not like these SEs are going to stop working if they do not move on to iOS 13. Now, if this were, say, RBS, there might be some security concerns, but what large banking (or other large) org would buy 2.5 year old phones with 4 year old internals and expect them to be supported for more than a couple of years, tops?

Large telecoms firm. We are one of Apples largest enterprise customers in Europe. It doesn’t mean we get told all the “secrets” but this heavily impacts our business so we’ve been given forewarning.

It’s a large telecoms firm. We can and do deal with information which relates to national security so we have very particular security needs. As for their reasoning on buying SE’s in the first place, I agree but we were in the final phase of replacing 5s devices and I suppose the SE was deemed to be the most cost effective choice.

This looks boring to me no redesign at all, another year with small updates and dark mode which I'll never use great
[doublepost=1559057069][/doublepost]This year everything from apple has been a huge downplay small cpu updates and nothing exciting, my bet ios 13 again will be a let down going from this article from 9to5 the homepage looks exactly the same and a few ui changes to apps :(

But looks like another year with homebar, thats a „ugh“ worth.
All i wanted is no homebar and batt % number, if ios stays this boring im gonna have to think about leaving the eco system, lately everything is so boring just small changes all this dark mode talk is just invert colours it looks horrible all dark ive never used an app with dark mode

So, basically, no redesign then on the iPhone then. (Dark mode is not a redesign). If this is true, I’m not surprised and have been saying this would happen since day one.

Again, if this is true, then Apple have really dropped the ball and will, quite rightly, get some major grief. iOS is currently, and would appear to be staying, tired, boring, dated, old, limited...

Totally agree.

- So it 2019, and you still cannot place an app icon anywhere you'd like on the home screen. WTF? LOL.
- When a Phone call comes in, it still blows up your phone, still taking up the entire screen, where it should just be a heads up notification, with options to accept or decline, etc...
- Default app settings? Let the user decide which apps should be default, not Apple.
- Icon Packs? Would be nice to at least have the option to change the look and style and color of your app icons.

So you guys don't think we get a full home screen redesign for the iPhone because we been staring at the the thing since iOS 7 I would love for them to at least change the design. If you could clarify on this. I would appreciate it. Please write back. Thanks.

I‘m 99% sure that we see a better incoming call screen this year, they are aware of all this intruding **** going on. And didnt they gave developers already the option for changeable icons?

No total redesign like ios 7 this year. Iphone will see a dark mode, maybe some app icons will be changed, the font you can already see in the new wallet app will be systemwide, some app redesigns like a overhauled reminders app, new (and faster?) animations, the widget page will see a refresh, new wallpapers (made for darkmode).

And I‘m sure we will see some refinements to the lock screen, notification screen and control center. If I‘m not wrong, control center was overhauled every year and got a new look.

Dark mode + new font + new pastel like colors = it will feel a bit like a „new“ phone. At least for a week.. I hope they include a dynamic wallpaper feature like on macos. Switching colors through the day or after a specific timeframe.
