I don't think any iOS devices with the A7 or original 1GB A8 will be getting iOS 13. Seeing as how Apple just released a 'new' A10-based iPod touch, and the only devices they still sell with an A8 is the 4th Gen Apple TV and HomePod - both of which run a lighter version of iOS - I think the iPhone 6 will be dropped.

I believe this will be caused by a lack of RAM. The original A8 found in the iPhone 6 and iPod touch 5th Gen did not have enough RAM or power to be future-proof, and I can speak from experience with a launch iPhone 6 Plus that it was slower than it should've been for a brand new phone. I'm thinking the iPad mini 4th Gen and iPad Air 2 may be saved from being dropped, seeing as how they have 2GB of RAM, and the Air 2 has 3 CPU cores. I have family members who still use iPad Air 2s on the latest version of iOS and it does not feel like a 5 year old tablet.

My prediction of supported devices on iOS 13:
iPhone 6s/6s Plus (partial)
iPhone SE (partial)
iPhone 7/7 Plus
iPhone 8/8 Plus
iPhone X
iPhone Xs/Xs Max
iPad mini 4th Gen (maybe partial)
iPad Air 2 (partial)
iPad Pro (all models)
iPad 5th Gen (2017)
iPad 6th Gen (2018)
iPad Air 3 (2019)
iPod Touch (7th Gen)

What do you mean by partial?

IMO

No device with A7 will get it.

A8 + 1 GB devices are unlikely to get it.

A8/X + 2 GB could/should get it.

All A9 devices should get it.

All A10 devices are guaranteed to get it.

6s and iPad (A9 and up) are guaranteed to get it.

The only A9 device in jeopardy is SE due to recent rumours.

I think partial refers to getting the update but without all the features being available to those devices. Much like Apple Pay was not available to phones without NFC chips in them, etc...

OK. I'm all in on the expected enhancements to the iPad: just ordered my new 11" iPad Pro, Smart Keyboard and Pencil 2. Will be picking up in 90 mins.

Time to deliver Apple! And I think you will!

Exactly, although I'm thinking more like dark mode may not be supported, things like that. Much like how iPhone 4 was able to upgrade to iOS 7 but did not receive any of the graphical abilities like parallax, translucency, etc.

See above for definition of partial, but I think the SE will get it. It's got the same SOC as the iPhone 6s, and is actually faster in some tests. The only reason to drop it would be to get away from having to support the 4" screen but seeing as how the new iPod touch has retained the 4" screen I think the SE will get one more update.

If that ends up being true that they are dropping SE/iPad Pro 1st Gen then Apple has lost their minds. iPad Pro 1st Gen is absolutely still extremely fast. I can't believe they'd drop the A9X chip being that it's 64bit and a bump up from A9. And don't get me started on the SE, which is one of the devices I see most these days. Heck I use one as a secondary device when I go out at night. I switch my sim from XS to SE. It is just so much easier to carry. If Apple made SE2 with the latest processor/space and and dropped the home button for Face ID, I'd buy that in a heart beat and drop XS size all together.

Personally I cannot see them dropping those devices just yet.

I don't see Apple dropping anything unless it won't support most of any new features. Let's all chill on this until Apple actually announces something. Pretty much anything you find online about this is beyond speculation. Much of it is made up.

Not a speculation, but more of a wish. I want to view third party navigation apps from the lock screen. I think it’s a no brainer now that iPhones have OLED screens.

Other than that, I’m generally satisfied with iOS. A tweaked Apple Music app where I can pin favorite albums and playlists would be nice. Adding swipe to the stock keyboard would be cool too.

As far as the ecosystem goes, I want iCloud storage options between the 200GB and 2TB options. 2TB is just overkill for what I need right now but I’m getting close to filling up my 200GB.

I’m hoping for a vastly revamped Files app, as has been speculated. I think file system access is what is holding back iOS significantly, particularly for the iPad for those that hope to get some actual work done without having to go to MacOS.

In fact, I was about to get the Local Storage app, but held off until I see what they have in mind for Files in iOS 13 - maybe it’ll be good enough so that we don’t need 3rd party apps to complement the user experience.

And Apple, please, don’t waste time talking at length about NEW EMOJIS!!!!!!UNO!!!! - seriously, it’s such an insignificant thing I cannot believe how much time they waste on this nonsense at these presentations - it’s like the iPod Sock all over again (anyone remember those, LOL?). Use that time for meaningful stuff, please.

Files App is the key to getting the continued evolution of iOS and user adoption for professionals.

More info regarding the iOS 13 images via 9to5Mac: Gui says he had to modify the screenshots to protect his source. Specifically the status bar and other portions. This was mentioned on the latest episode of the Stacktrace podcast.

Why do you all keep putting money in this idiots hand? All he does is make videos rehashing what others say. He makes elaborate mockups and says "here's the new iOS version!" like its fact. He's an idiot. He renames his videos to get more views, changes his opinions over and over, to get more views. He's as reliable as a wet paper bag. STOP SUPPORTING HIM.

I heard they maybe increasing the animation speeds of iOS, does this rumour hold some weight?

I jailbroke a few years back and of all the things I played with, the only thing I miss is removing/increasing animation speed. This literally changed my phone experience. Not constantly waiting for the animation to finish/start before I got in the app.

I’m new to this forum but curious if anyone knows if Apple is in any way working on a way to multitask on iPhone. Tired of my android friends being able to watch a YouTube video in the corner of the screen while texting or surfing the internet. I don’t understand why the iPhone seems to never get this???

Nobody on here knows for certain what apple will do/is working on however its one of them features that people want but never happens we'll know exactly what will be coming in iOS 13 on Monday so not long to wait. Chances are that it won't happen as I haven't seen any rumours suggesting this feature
