OK now I understand. Some people were saying the public beta profile will be out today, while others stated it's the developer beta profile.

There is no public beta profile out. There is a developer beta profile out.

Actually, I didn’t see anyone say that.

People were just confusing the term “profile” with “public beta.”

Dev Beta 3 - Monday, July 1

Public Beta 1 - Tuesday, July 2

Seeing what Federighi said about them adding even more features when the Public Beta for macOS comes out makes me wonder whether they have more changes for iPadOS/iOS13 waiting to be added via DB3/PB1 too...

What did he say exactly?

What did he say exactly?

He was talking about the MacOS versions of the voice memos and stocks apps and he was saying that they have made design changes in order to make them more "macOS-y" and that these changes would roll out in the first public beta of macOS. What put me in thoughts was his last phrase "We are still tuning everything up. Wait for the public beta. That's where it gets really good"

I’m not taking away that Craig’s remark has anything to do with iOS at all.

On Apple developer site it says that public beta comes later this month and will have new tweaks which may indicate that db3 will come next week or will the public beta be a new build?

Time will tell. No one here has any way of knowing the answer to that.

That was noted in the video showing all of the new beta 2 changes...I wrote it off as an error. I still think developer beta 3 on Monday, July 1 with public beta the following day.

I have learned the past few years to never say never on these things. Given that next week is the Independence Day holiday week here in the US, with scheduled holiday time for Apple for at least part of that week (please, no speculation about how much of that week is Apple vacation time), I’d say there’s a decent chance we’ll see a new beta sometime this week. They are on the record as saying no public beta till July, though so I’d doubt we’ll see that.

But July starts next Monday...

They say July every year, but as pointed out above last year they released the Public Beta on June 25 despite saying July. And the Public Beta site does later this month currently. There is a chance that with the 4th Of July holiday next week that they could decide on this week. There is no set schedule, it could be week of July 8. History says it's unlikely next week because of the holiday but again Apple never released things on Fridays until a few years ago also when they did one time. So Anything is possible.

Not to pick nits on this, but most years my recollection is they say "later this summer". I don't recall them ever actually saying July.

That said, Apple DOES have a set schedule. We just don't know what it is. I will say this: its unlikely they will release the public beta between 6/28 and 7/5, given the heavily-vacationed holiday week.

At 2:15:00 of the keynote, Tim says the "... the Public Seed of macOS, iOS and iPadOS will be available in July".

I was referring to other years, not this year. Sorry...my post was not clear on that. This year, he was quite clear about July. I know others have seen written references somewhere on the Apple site to June, but I don't know why they'd try to mislead on this from what they said at the certainly much more viewed Keynote address on this.

Two years ago they released the PB just prior to July 4th.

I only remember because I was so excited to try out new mapping features on a very long drive I was taking prior to the holiday.

My guess is Beta 3 today and then Beta 4 along with PB Next Monday the 1st. I think there are a few little annoying kinks they have to iron out before PB. There was one year where it was released right before the July 4th holiday even though most people swore Apple would never do that.
