Releasing two BETA's per week doesn't really do anything. It only results in it being barely any builds between the releases, it's not like having a total of 9 BETA's is any worse or gives us any lesser of a GM build compared to if we had a total of 12 BETA's. We started on 17A5492t and we are currently on 17A5572a, that's 80 builds higher. In theory if Apple gave us a new BETA for every build the commit we could be at BETA 80 at this point.

Compared to iOS 12.0 we had 16A5288q for the first BETA and the last beta before GM was 16A5366a, that's a total of 78 builds. So it's not like they are moving any slower with iOS 13.0 but it just feels like the amount of bugs this time around is more substantial. I can't say it has felt this rough this close to GM since iOS 7.0.

I’m not sure what it does or does not do. Only Apple does. I’m just saying that if they choose to release more betas, they have time before the phones start shipping.

With just 2 weeks remaining until the expected GM on 10 Sep, they may well release the next beta this Tue-Thu and stop at that.

Sure, by that measure pretty much nothing can’t be ruled out and almost anything is fair game, including a beta release on the day of a company holiday.

Isn’t the holiday on the Monday? I’m not in the US so I don’t know.

Doesn’t mean it can’t happen.....

However, it does make it much less likely a scheduled release would be on a Friday. Guessing Friday as a scheduled release is akin to putting all your chips on 00 on the roulette table. Sure, there's a chance of payoff, but it's much more likely you'll walk home sad an poor.

yes always first Monday in September

But the holiday is not also the Friday, like was implied?

That’s not been the only Friday, just the easiest one I’ve found. There’s also been a beta on a Saturday before too. So, less of the mocking, from someone that’s obviously not been around for all the betas.

I think that what would make the most sense would be a beta 10 (today?) so they have a few days before the holiday to receive feedback, and then maybe a GA candidate release next week (early in the week- like Tuesday).
I am also expecting that on the 20th, when we are setting up our new phones, we will have a 13.01 release to deal with, followed by 13.1 beta early the next week.

No the holiday is Monday. I think his point was if you drop on a Friday before a three day weekend and there is a surprise major bug, you would have to spoil a lot of folks weekends to correct. Maybe not the best plan.
